Trainz Update Announcement (SP5)

Yeah, I decided to just update a couple hundred a day > takes too long otherwise. Can't really get good performance in Surveyor when the database is being added to. Too much caching activity, slows everything way down. 🤪 🍻
It sure does cause a lot of annoying blank spots and blank menus until everything has settled in.

I have plenty of "Packaged, newer version available" how do you access the newer versions.?
In Content Manager
  1. Select (highlight) those assets marked "Packaged, newer version available"
  2. Right mouse click on any one of them
  3. Select the option List Asset Versions
  4. Left click (one or twice) on the Status column to sort them so that all those labelled "Available for Download" are grouped together (it is possible that there may be none 😭 )
  5. Select all the assets labelled "Available for Download"
  6. Right Mouse Click on any one of them
  7. Select the option Download
Reference the Trainz Wiki: Understand_Content_Manager_Status_Labels#Newer_Version_Available

Not all assets labelled "Packaged, newer version available" will have the update on the DLS.

250 "Out of Date" assets today! Never happened (usually max 10). All updated assets by "ilyon", "sandrilyon" and "pencil42" are "Faulty" in SP5, so there is no check before making updates available for download!

The Old Load/Unload Cargo and Passengers Tab Absolutely should Bring it back like TOFC and Containers and the Incompatibile Spline should be fixed anytime soon

Is this a new service pack for 22? Does this fix the flickering white trees at lod 2? I have been using 2019 mostly. And apparently I got a free year of Plus a year ago because now when I try to load it I get a box that that says I don't have permission or something. I guess I have to buy a yearly subscription now to use Plus. There is a cheaper option for $69.49. What is the bug incompatible spline when placing trackside objects? Does it only affect old routes imported into 22? What if you save the route in the new build number?

Welcome back rwk, from wherever you have been this past week or two.

There is a new SP - SP5 - for Trainz Plus, TRS22 and TRS22PE. Depending on your OS and where you got TRS22/TRS22PE/Trainz Plus from, the new build number will be in the range 128485 to 128503.

Looks like your free year of Trainz Plus has expired.

The "Incompatible Spline" bug only affects track from routes created before the update (but there is an easy fix available). The bug has no effect if the same track is used to create a new route after the update. A few users have reported other issues but these may be separate matters and I have certainly not seen them on any of my 4 installs of Trainz Plus and one of TRS22PE.

Do you guys do a DBR afterward.? or just leave it alone.
I'm a belts and braces kinda guy, so I always do a DBR after assets updates are applied and obsolete assets that are not built in or packaged are deleted.
Then, I'll typically precache the updated assets again to be sure, to be sure...
Fixing any 'Faulties' is more of a priority for me, as these have the highest impact on Trainz performance.
As I reported earlier in this forum, applying the Service Pack (5) to both my Plus beta and standard editions of TRS22 resulted in ZERO new 'faulties'.

I posted a fix for the track issue.

Is there any other fix. I have tried this and I still cannot add signals. Track type is RTXT

There's another way. You will need to delete and reinstall the track again.

In Content Manager, click on the small arrow next to Installed to open up a window to add other commands.

Click on the Plus-sign (+) to add more commands.
Scroll the window to show Category.

This will default to Achievement.

Scroll that until you find tracks.

In the search window located in the upper right, put in RTXT to search for that track.

Select all the RTXT track.
Right click on the selected track and choose View assets in a new window.

Highlight the track and delete the assets - right-click and choose delete.

Reinstall the track again.

The RTXT Track is not on the DLS. It is from Coal Country and similar DLCs. What do I do now.
Packaged assets can't be deleted. For the track that's in DLC packages, highlight the track in Content Manager, right-click and choose Revert to original.

The whole set is available for download from Jointed Rail. You need to sign-up to download freeware and purchase payware. If you install any track, revert any packaged assets because they will be left open for editing.
