Trainz Update Announcement (SP5)

If in S2.0, it is possible to accidentally double click on a single track segment and thus select everything between two junctions. If a single segment is long it might not be obvious that too much has been selected.
I even notice that I'll click on an asset to place on the map and it'll act as if I double clicked and put the same thing on there twice. Perhaps that's my mouse but it doesn't have that problem in most other applications that I use.

I have already checked the bad things about SP5 regarding splines and track objects.
But I have found one good thing or one that has been fixed.
Perhaps the following has already been commented, I apologize for that.

In both Trainz 2019 and Trainz 2022 up to SP4, if you install an object with an error, it appears in the content organizer with black letters and no error, but if you double click on it or do an open and preview asset then it becomes erroneous, with red letters.

I have done a test with a simple object, I have edited it and changed the name of the thumbnail and sent it to a TRS2022 SP4 and it appears in the content organizer in black and without error, but when viewing it becomes erroneous.
I have done the same test on a TRS2022 SP5 and the same object appears at first in the content organizer in red and cannot be viewed.

Trainz Living Railroad: Dispatch Manager & Coal Country HD Terrain

Streamlining Train Dispatch with the Living Railroad Dispatch Manager

Managing the complexities of a bustling railroad system is no easy task, but the new Living Railroad Dispatch Manager is here to simplify the process. This feature, designed for Trainz, centralizes the control and management of dispatch tasks, industry chains, and driver activity into one intuitive interface. Let’s dive into how this game-changing addition enhances gameplay for both hands-on operators and strategic managers.

This feature has been released for Trainz Plus members.

Why the Dispatch Manager Matters

Previously, managing the Living Railroad system required navigating multiple windows to uncover issues or monitor industry chains—a time-consuming and inefficient process. The Dispatch Manager addresses these pain points by providing:

  • Issue Discovery: Quickly identify and resolve problems like stuck drivers or missing goods in industries.
  • Task Management: View active and potential tasks, claim them as a player, and generate automated instructions.
  • Comprehensive Overview: Monitor current dispatch activity, industry processes, and railroad health from a single window.

Key Features

  1. Centralized Settings: Adjust global Living Railroad settings, such as toggling dispatch on/off, restarting stuck AI, or delaying AI task assignments. This streamlines control over the entire system.
  2. Filterable Lists: Use robust filters to focus on relevant items like industries, trains, or passenger stations. Search by keywords to locate specific tasks, commodities, or users.
  3. Real-Time Updates: Changes take effect immediately, allowing you to react quickly to dynamic gameplay scenarios.
  4. Task Claiming: Players can claim undispatched tasks or pause ongoing ones, enabling hands-on control of specific objectives.
  5. User-Friendly Layout: A clean, resizable UI integrates seamlessly into gameplay, offering all relevant information without unnecessary clutter.

How It Improves Gameplay

The Dispatch Manager empowers players to engage with the Living Railroad system in new ways. Whether you’re a hands-on operator or a behind-the-scenes strategist, this tool enhances your ability to:

  • Quickly assess and resolve dispatch issues.
  • Seamlessly transition between freight and passenger operations when TLR: Passenger Support is released.
  • Claim and manage tasks with minimal effort.

The Living Railroad Dispatch Manager is more than a tool—it’s your command center for building and optimizing a thriving railroad network. Let us know how it transforms your gameplay and share your feedback as we continue refining this powerful feature!

Read the Trainz Living Railroad documentation for additional information on Dispatch Manager and TLR in general.

This update also brings with it...

🤷‍♂️ A very well-known issue. Please, revise all this thread: A temporal solution is offered by wise John here --> https://forums.auran.com/threads/trainz-update-announcement-sp5.179952/post-2040435

An N3V Dev team hotfix is expected (or desired) (or welcomed) (or advisable) (or essential) (or compulsory). 😂

;)

And here you are!!!!!! 😂 😂 😂

To avoid any possible confusion and "Why can't I get the patch" posts ...

This Patch is on the Trainz Plus Beta Stream, not on the normal (non-beta) Trainz Plus or TRS22 streams.

You have to have your Trainz Plus Trainz Settings --> Install --> Update Stream set to Trainz Plus Beta

Otherwise wait until the beta testing has been done and the patch is released for the non-beta (mere mortal) users.

If this is the Steam version, then the entire folder with the game occupies 13.6 GB.
It will be easier to delete the game via steam and delete SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Trainz Railroad Simulator 2022 game folder, if there is still any left, it will take a few seconds and then reinstall.
This will not affect all personal data, settings, etc.
Hi

oldman777

Yes one does have the Steam copy of TRS22 so its the files in the base of the game are updated and not the userdata folder.
If Steam has this update patched into a fresh copy ready for download then might give this a try.
Thanks
PS: One has just updated my copy of Windows 11 ver 23H2 to 24H2 and graphic driver updates no problems discovered yet.
Warning if you update to Windows 11 ver 24H2 make sure you have your 25 digit alpha numeric license code to register the windows software.
The license code can be found on a label somewhere on the PC cover or base on a barcode label. You will need a magnifying glass to read it.

Has SP5 caused anyone's mouse to behave erratically? I've had issues with double clicking, taking actions not wanted by me among other things. Maybe it's just time to get another mouse. Hopefully someone can speak on it.

OK, then that is not the issue - there have been quite a few complaints about wireless mouses not working well with Trainz (and some other gaming software as well).

Sounds to me like you have worn out the left mouse button. That is always my point of failure in mice. Cheap mice don't last long at all for me. Less than a year in most cases. Gaming mice last much longer but even they fail. I just had an Logitech G500s develop the same issue with false double clicking on icons and controls in games. I replaced it with one just like it that had been used on a PC that I haven't used much in the last 7 years so I imagine I will get many years of use from it.

I've had good luck with a Cool Master Devastator. This came with a keyboard, which died in a few months, but the mouse lives on. Watch... It'll now join its friend the keyboard now that I mentioned this!

Has anyone else noticed that the doppler effects in SP5 don't seem to have a change in pitch anymore?
