Will TLR or HD Terrain ever make it to a retail release?

What does it matter WHEN or even IF these features become available. They will turn up when N3V deems them ready.
So continue to design or run with what you have; unless you have run out of things to do or try in the version you have.

Yes, there are a lot of faulty assets.

I doubt very much that putting a single programmer on the task would make much of a dent.

Tightening the standards for uploads is one solution but, I suspect, would not be a popular one.
Peter, there are hardly ANY people working in the CRG, there are now around 40,000 assets that need fixing, there were 20,000 until a few months ago and now NV3 dumps many thousands more in their collective laps.. They will NEVER get through the backlog unless they get more help.

Heck, how much do NV3 value their contribution when they just concentrate on making new features that wreck other assets? Not very much I think.

I found a BUILT IN item in TRS 2022 PE that brought my route to a stop a day or so ago. JVC spline E, half the boards on the route went black and blue. One woudl have thoguth thst they would at least test the built ins so they dont impose such a burden ona route that it renders it unusuable !

Believe me, they need to do something to fix this issue , if they could fix a few hundred items a week, it would be a HUGE help, it doesn't need a really highly skilled person to do some of these tasks , the scripts are an issue, but one can be trained to do the work without it breaking the bank. Perhaps AI might be able to tackle the items , do the spadework and then someone human can test the results.

It matters because if you are permanently behind the curve, there is little incentive to upgrade at all.

I had an experience a week back after some of my DLS uploads were put into the CRG queue. The problem was a script command that is now obsolete (it wasn't when the assets were created - but that is progress). I have never worked with scripts before but the error report CM gave me identified the faulty command. A search through the Wiki quickly identified the new command that had to be used in its place. The scripts were edited, the assets were up-versioned and resubmitted. They appeared on the DLS a few days later fully working. So certainly it can be done but preferably by the creator (if they are still around).

I was not told that the assets were sent to the CRG queue. I only found out after posting a HelpDesk ticket on why they had not appeared on the DLS. The email I got was actually very helpful.

Perhaps there needs to be a system where creators are informed that their assets are in the CRG queue and exactly what the problem is.

Sorry if it is a bit off topic, but I will repeat my question from page 1. How does one get onto the CRG? I know the easy stuff, but I don't really know scripts although I am a programmer in several languages and could learn fast. I am not looking for pay of any kind, nor am I looking for steady hours, just the chance to fix a few things in my spare time.

As has often been stated here perhaps the best option would have been to only allow a small number of "proven" and qualified creators upload assets to the DLS. Instead we have had a free-for-all where every Tom, Dorothy and Harriet is allowed to contribute no matter how little skill or knowledge they have.

That free-for-all has built a community where individual users can feel that they belong. The downside, as mentioned, is that not all assets are worthy.

I doubt very much that putting a single programmer on the task would make much of a dent.

I for one wouldn’t mind tightening the standards and even taking them down. Even if it’s done without notice or arbitrarily.

The only person I know is @pcas1986 . You should contact him.
