Trainz Update Announcement (SP5)

Doesn't he also make DLC under the username S301?
and over 1600 items on the DLS.

In the early days of Auran, pre-N3V, I remember the "Brew Crew" (I don't think that the "Brew" referred to a cup of tea) who were Auran employees who also made content and, obviously, used the program. Those days are gone and it is not just an N3V thing.

A few searches on the question of "Do gaming programmers play the games they create" did not return a clear "Yes" or "No". It depends on, amongst other things, the age group and interests of the programmer and the nature of the game.

I can see that a younger set of programmers working on First Shooter action games could be more likely to be playing their product outside of the requirements of their jobs but interest there would vary. Programmers interested in driving slow trains on fixed track, with shunting and loading/unloading, outside of their work requirements would probably be a much smaller sub set.

Programmers today tend to be more "nomadic" in that many are quite happy to frequently move between jobs and short term contracts.

Anyone know when the Incompatible Spline glitch will be fixed? So far, it doesnt effect TANE OAK and SAM Trk B70a and B70 LZB. Any other tracks are a no go, at least in my experience

Built-in and DLC packaged track are unaffected.

N3V said to reinstall or download the track again. For third-party track, I exported to a cdp and imported the track again for that track that didn't get fixed using my other method.

Heads up! I just had an unusually large number of updates revealed by running my 'Out of Date' filter in Content Manager today, as I usually do daily before running Trainz. (Build 128486)
After Selecting All (Out of Dates), and getting it to list Asset Versions, it revealed 174 'Available for download' - which is a considerably larger update set than usual.
Wonder why the backlog? Anybody else see this today?
(Your mileage may vary depending upon the number of routes and sessions you've installed and your current build number).
I welcome updates and apply them as soon as practicable to ensure optimal ongoing performance of Trainz Railroad Simulator since most updates offer functionality and compatibility improvements/ enhancements to existing installed assets.

Whooo! Thanks for the heads up. I have 177 "Available for download" (is there a contest for the most and do I win?). I regularly check for updates, which means whenever I remember. Installing now. Now to repeat on 4 other installs.

Yup, same. My actual change list following the update as reported by "Today" was 179, so I win by a narrow margin. ;)
(We will easily be beaten by others who do not fastidiously update their assets on a daily basis - their backlog will be much bigger!)

Another minor problem with the update: Editing a base session (UMR2025) "save as" does not auto create a thumbnail causing an error symbol to be shown, however creating a new session does create a thumbnail.
Bug reported to N3V

This frequently occurred for me in previous builds in recent months, so is not necessarily a 'feature' of this latest update. Good to see it reported, though. Thanks.

After reading the last few comments, I decided to see how many updateable's I had in TRS2019.
I don't regularly check for and download asset updates, unless I run into a problem that requires I do.

I have 1800-ish assets that show newer available for download. A few hours work ahead, here we go. 🤪

I keep up on my updates but don't always check packaged updates. Yesterday, I too had 180-ish assets in packages that had updates available not counting the trains since they're not available via the DLS and that as in addition to the usual ones. It took quite a long while to download them all and then they had to pre-cache before I got to do anything. It pays to check those more often!

Yeah, I decided to just update a couple hundred a day > takes too long otherwise. Can't really get good performance in Surveyor when the database is being added to. Too much caching activity, slows everything way down. 🤪 🍻
