I had a look out of interest at the 3F and 2P as they were commonly seen on the S&D in the 1950s. Nice enough models, with nice whistles I noticed. The locos use Skipper's 2P cab which is fine but they don't appear to have been checked as they are sunk into the ground when in cab view which is a shame. Although we don't have a 3F espec the 2P performs admirably with 2995valliant's, as you would expect, and the ability to change liveries and headcodes is nice as a lot of models from 3rd party sites don't accommodate this. GP locos for example, while providing excellent models, don't allow you to change headcodes so are somewhat limited in scope.
A weathered version of each would be excellent and to this end it is good to see that reskinning is permitted (and presumably sharing, though this would need clarification). I wonder if the author would be open to a reskin hosted on the DLS?
The only thing I've noticed on the 2P is that the front bogie doesn't properly follow the track curvature and instead appears to lean more to the right; screenshot below to illustrate what I mean. I have no clue on how this may be fixed but I would have thought it would be possible.
Otherwise a good model, thanks for bringing them to our attention.
Cheers,
PLP
Hello, Jupiter here! Thank you all so much for the positivity – I didn't think my content would make it here! I've been following the thread very closely and have taken inspiration several times from all of you. I'm genuinely flattered to see this amount of support for my work.
As for the issue of the bogey - that slipped my mind! To be honest, I just flat-out forgot to add the tags, and despite having added them in a separate private model for myself I forgot to update the actual release model with it. I've uploaded an updated version just now, you can go redownload/submit edits now and (hopefully) the issue will be fixed.
The liveries are very much solely focused on the Barrow area, as this is targeted toward "realistic" TTTE fans, so I did not include liveries beyond how they "would have" appeared during their tenures at Barrow. Due to time constraints, weathering was not included on models beyond the coal engine (which to me was an inherent feature to display the condition they were in by the fifties!) For those wishing to release reskins, go ahead! My only ask is that you please give credit, and provide a link to where the original dependencies may be found.
The issue related to the cabs is known. For context, I worked on this alone alongside two summertime classes and a full-time job (and rushed it a little bit at the end to release it on my birthday!), and decided to omit the cabs for various reasons such as lack of time, information, and interest among my primary target audience. I plan on updating them in the near future with more detailed cabs when I have better access to the above resources. When I get around to it, I will absolutely notify those here! I myself have given a few models fully modeled, functional cabs, and I do hold a degree of regret over not being able to shoehorn that feature in before the planned release date. Also, the 2P is missing the box on either side on the running board – a mechanical lubricator, I believe? – and that will be included in the aforementioned future update.
For any further questions or advice or recommendations – or if you want to say hi! – you can find me on discord @jupitersdrops, or on twitter @haltraugh.
Again, thank you so much for the praise and feedback. It's all very much appreciated!
For good measure, here are a few screenshots of my own.
