Just reskinning the buckeye coupler today for the C64K, so expect a release very shortly. My combo mountain route is nearly finished, it's taken just over 2 years. It's a highly datailed route, with the focus being on photorealism and operating 20 car passenger express trains. Quite a few city stations, alot of gradients to negotiate. Quite a few small stations in the mountains. Coal, containers, chemicals, oil fuel and passengers. All of my screenshots are from this route. Here's a couple more following this post.
 
Hi, Dave.
I have sent a email to the mesh creator of DF4B and I have got a reply today. He said he was working and planning some layouts other places in the country, when he went back, he would send me the 3D cab of DF4B.

Anyway, how is the current DF4B? Does the second mesh work good or not. Please let me know and thanks for your work.:)
 
Here is another Chinese electric loco called 8K and it was originally made by Alstom in France. The creator 动力8K has dragged it into TRS but there are two small problems now,

1 the pantograph can not raise up.
2 the bogeys have transparence problem.

The creator will agree to release it if we can solve these problem, so could any one help us? We will really appreciate your help! Download the test one here,

Is it possible to make the side windows on the DF4B see through?, everytime I've been in a sleeper car and a DF4B passes or is nearby for viewing, the engine room side windows give a very nice atmospheric view of the massive engine. The lighting is very yellow and dim. Not sure how long it would take to add, but just a suggestion.

Thanks for your fourth release, I have just finished the test. The adjustment can be clear seen although the texture around the windows becomes a little mess again, thank you very much! As usual, I am going to give you some suggestions about improvement as well,

1 May you reduce the light effect of the bogeys? They look too big.

Yes, I agree. If we could manage to do that, the light effect of this loco will be real and perfect. :wave:

Does anyone have any pictures that show this effect? I think it will be difficult to make it convincing without some good reference material.

I spent 1 hours and found one on the internet. :eek: Thank you to the photographer. In fact, this is the DF4B with blue and white skin.

I downloaded from you site, the green pasenger cars, (so it said, tho there were no green pictures in the file) they will not open in serveyor, ? I can see them in the list, but no picture appears,, same with the green DF diesel,,, :(

I have checked back and I can't see any mention of a release of a green passenger car, also I don't have a website set up at the moment.

If you have found a way to snoop on my files it's a bit off really. If something is working and finished I release it straight away. I put pretty much all my spare time into making these improvements, please don't try and eat the food while it's still in the oven ;). If you are missing any KUID's fo any content that has been released in this thread please let me know.

...May you translucent the windows on the sides, but don't make them too clear cause we don't have any nice textures for the current diesel engine. I have taken some pics for you, maybe you can use them instead of the skin before.


Thanks for the pictures. I think to make the side windows transparent would require quite a lot of work. I'm nervous of trying to punch more holes in the original mesh as it is now at the point where using the boolean operator in GMax causes all sorts of nasty side effects which then have to be fixed up. I would rather leave the mesh as it is and try and get something reasonable through textures. It may be possible to use some parts of your photos to improve the textures.

I have to say I don't really like the Russian track sounds you suggested. They don't sound very realistic to me. If a tracksound is associated with the bogey this would make the loco unusable with TRS2004 so I'm not willing to do that. I create using TRS2004 and only use TRS2006 for testing.
