TRS22 - Official Retail Release Out Now!

I have only received the normal newsletter mailings.

There is a feature in most mail software called the delete button. I use it frequently with all sorts of automated mailings - it does give me some pleasure to do it :). Plus you could simply add the sender to the junk or spam list until you decide to "release" them.

I wonder if there will be discounted cut down regional versions as has been done with TS2019, e.g. a UK only version?

I do hope so, as this would be my prefered entry into TRS2022. I think US$70 is a bit too much to ask for, considering what it is!

Time will tell, I think future discounts will be inevitable - hopefully!

Rob.

David - S20 brush size is adjusted in the Tool Options palette. Not sure what you mean about features missing - more likely you haven't found the "Contextual Menu" provided for the current selection which provides most of the things like rotate, smooth etc.

I know where the menu is, I know how to work with the brush, the only thing I miss there is the creation with the BIG brush water surface, it's just not there.

Otherwise, after a few days, I found that the weather is still noisy and unrealistic ambient sounds, so that the drops are louder than the engine is quite comical. The clicking of the rails would also not hurt to delete or give the option to turn off the basic sound in the settings so that everyone chooses what they want. The artificial intelligence of automatically controlled trains continues to amaze. It sends trains against each other, or the train does not leave at all. I also noticed that out of nowhere some scripts had script errors. There is a lot that needs to be fixed. Even the large content of commands cannot be selected or do not exist in the game at all, so I do not know what it is. But first and foremost improve the weather, ambient sound, and water creation in brush.

I know that the creators are very worried about this, but why new versions of the whole game are constantly being developed and older versions are not continued, as was the better TRS 19 or 20, it would be enough to make a few modifications and everyone would be satisfied, this is how one learns with one product and is new here. You need to stop making new standalone games and make improvements to the old ones tested by the community.

So I'm a little confused here. My original beta TRS22 install is now at 117669 as it should be; - but my updated TS2019 install is now at 116492 with no more patches available. Both say that they are Trainz Railroad Simulator 2022 on the launcher and that they are Trainz+.

Yay! I have attained Build 117669 nirvana as I've finally been able to properly update my TS2019 install. I don't know why it kept turning up errors when I tried doing it before, but this morning the update went through without any problems at all.

Its an old argument but it keeps returning. The reality is that in the software industry if you stand still then you are "dead in the water". Just looking at one major player in the industry, Electronic Arts, they are now into their 31st version of their FIFA Football Game simulator and the 29th version of their NHL Ice Hockey simulator. Users want new features, new capabilities, new experiences - and they want them now! N3V, like all the other game and software developers, are businesses not charities.

Without a continuous cash flow from new games sales (and SPs/HFs do not generate much if any income from their existing customers) then they have no money to pay their programmers, artists, developers, electricity supplier, rent and other costs. So no new features, capabilities and experiences.

My opinions.

OK , problem here..I just purchased Trs22-MAC-117654.dmg download from Auran. 10.4 GB.
downloaded using black marker Trs22 Full Installer.
I have a new Mac/Intel with latest version operating system.
download paused at 391.4 MB. It started at 3:17 and it is now 4:10 no action.

Any clues folks?

At a guess, any "download pause" would indicate to me at least that there is a problem with any or all of:-
- your internet connection (including an ISP download limit)
- download manager
- firewall
- OS

I have only ever had one similar experience very recently and its cause was revealed to be my newly installed (and since removed) VPN software.

My theories

Update: I used mytrainz, my digital downloads, and downloaded Trainz22 again. Feed hung up at 18MB. Checked firewall and it is down. I am in an assisted living complex and they have wifi available. I have a suspicion it's their system that is the problem, I also tried downloading my Trains for Mac and the feed froze almost immediately. Obviously it is their system. any suggestions Tony?

Hmm. The fact that no one else has posted about this problem (so far) would be a strong indication that it is not at the server end but anything is possible.

Hello, I would suggest you talk to the management at the assisted living complex and find out if there is an issue with the internet. Their service contract may also have limits on bandwidth/transfers and they may have reached their max. Ask them. Tell them your internet is not working properly and see what they say.

But before you do I think I would try downloading some other large files from other sites and/or use a speed tool to determine your connectivity and download speed. https://www.speedtest.net

If they are restricting downloads on your residential system, might need to use a downloader program that resumes.

Could be with the current obsession on streaming, you need to download when the other residents are asleep and not saturating the bandwidth of the connection to the ISP.

It would help if you could post some specific examples of KUIDs and the "add-ons" that are broken.
No problem. Here is a list of these same quids that break so many locomotives. I don't know why they haven't been removed yet! As you can see, initially these were working additions, then after updating them, they are replaced by broken lines "Paravozik"

I do not understand that list.

122 assets that all have exactly the same name "Paravozik", all are of type "Train component", all are build 3.6, all were uploaded to the DLS on 25-Apr-2021 by user "AlexTM" but their config.txt files lists the author as "ParavoZ".

61 of them have been superseded by a "Newer Version Available".

According to their config.txt files (at least the ones I examined) they are all engine specs.

Which locos are dependents of them - I have none on my system?

AlexTM was last active in these forums over a year ago and these 122 assets were his last uploads to the DLS. ParavoZ has never posted in these forums and has no uploads to the DLS.

Paravozik is Croatian for Locomotive which makes sense. Paravoz is Croatian for Steam Locomotive. Paravoz.com is also a very old railroading site with information about Eastern European railroads. It may mean the source of the information used to make these engine specs came from that site.

What kind of nonsense? And here in general this site and the author?

And now about the cuids. For example <kuid2:700148:100097:1> Loco CHS4T-392 v.8.0 TS 2010+ This is an electric locomotive, if you update to the next version of the quid, it will disappear, and so on with all its updates!

Second example <kuid:700148:100418> Corona Red This is a red color light used on many locomotives in the game, if you upgrade it, then all electric locomotives and diesel locomotives using it will stop working properly

First you need to explain the essence of the problem. The author of the listed assets acted like a child, took offense at his comrades and updated locomotive components with malicious files. That is, he decided to make everyone feel bad, so that the add-on referring to his asset would stop working for everyone.
I personally do not know him, but I know him as a user with inadequate boorish behavior.
You can solve the problem - you need to take the previous working version of the add-on and update to the new version. And so with each malicious asset, all this can be done, but none of us can upload it to the DLS. Perhaps someone from the development team can upload to the DLS without him (the author). And then forbid him to update anything at all, since this can all happen again.
