What is Trainz Simulator 12 ?

I have a copy of Trainz 2004 signed by the Auran crew. Real signatures too. Somehow I doubt the Trainz team is going through ahnd signing 2500 copies of Trainz.

Wow, I'm so impressed with your good fortune! You really are favored among the Trainz community for owning such a collector's item. Personally I don't care if it's mechanically signed by the cast of Gilligan's Island, I was only correcting Blackwatch for his dismissal of the container in question.

As far as the price, I'm sure it will not stay at such heights forever, supply and demand and all that. If it does, then perhaps it will only appeal to collectors, (as it may now); a collector may be willing to spend more for an item than a casual user. There's no shame in either position.

there are some great things ahead, these tins not being amongst the greatest...

The tin may well be the greatest thing ever, depending on the person receiving it.

Ok, Ok, some of you (fortunately just a few) still insisting on labelling others' comments as 'ridiculous', which usually ends up being a ridiculous comment. :o:D

Ergo I'm also ridiculous for sorting a few of you as ridiculous, what a circling thought I've just found! :p Everybody is ridiculous over here. ;)

The still ridiculous side of Alberte :hehe:

Have you downloaded anything from the DLS? It's all been made for free. In point of fact by the time you take into account graphics software purchased for textures and the stack of books for research most content creators are actually producing their content at a loss even if some is very high quality.

Cheerio John

But without a company, first creating a product for resale to the general public (in the hopes of making money by selling that product) creating the DLS, providing the equipment for the DLS, providing the bandwidth for the DLS, there wouldn't be any free content on the DLS...

My statement that you quoted was in response to a statement that seemed to me to be critical of Auran/N3V attempting to profit...

Personal feelings aside, (I would rather see Auran/N3V price the next version at 150 bucks, take away all access to all facilities, the forum's, DLS etc. from anybody except registered users of the new product) it would definitely "thin the herd" so to speak...

Now of course that's just my personal opinion. I've often railed over those who disparage payware, Auran/N3V, or anything that isn't handed to them on a silver platter. My feelings about those hasn't changed.

I hope Auran/N3V makes record profits each year for the next 20 years, and keeps making trainz better and better each year. When it gets to the point where I can't afford it, I'll go find something else to do...

Furthermore I'm not against anybody who wants to create anything and give it away for free. If that's what they choose to do more power to them. But the user I was responding to and why I made the statement that I did was that this individual appeared to begrudge Auran/N3V from making a profit.

That's just ridiculous, Alberte... :hehe:

Yes, yes, dear F_R. :hehe:

I find myself ridiculous labelling others as ridiculous for regarding others as ridiculous, which is intrinsically absolutely ridiculous!!!

A circling mirroring thought, dear F_R. :hehe:;) Trainzy philosophy is terribly ridiculous... I'm afraid. :hehe:

I think I'm going to my ridiculous bed... Good night/day to everybody ridiculous over here...

The insane ridiculous sleeping position of Alberte

What's with the snippy reply? Maybe I forgot my :p smiley at the end of my message to help indicate I was just trying to engage in some lighthearted conversation. Even though, I don't get why the apparently harshly worded sarcasm was thrown back my way.

Settle down there, I was not being sarcastic, as evidenced by my lack of use of a "rolling eyes" smiley. Such a collectible from the Original Brew Crew is a fine keepsake indeed. For those that do collect such items (and I guess I can say I'm one, having accumulated quite a few versions of Trainz myself), that would be a fine piece to have. Perhaps you would like to sell it?

Hehe, I couldn't do that. It's a keepsake to my early work with Trainz and the only copy of Trainz I've actually kept over the years. It means a lot to me :)

I also have a signed copy of The Beatles Rockband, signed by the Harmonix crew. I can't imagine these signed copies of games ever actually being worth anything that special, but I like em!

I'm so confuse don what Trainz 12 is.. Were do you guys see it's an updated version of Trainz 2010? Right now I would focus on Trainz 2010 and go from there..

I've just had a thought. Has someone goofed and issued the release two weeks too early and it should have come out on April 1st?

Does trainz 2012 have a compatibility mode for all trainz assets before 2009 and is the game that much different to 2010 multiplayer build apart for a few new routes and speedtrees,
does it have a new game engine or is it built to take advantage of video card GPUs, SLI or CROSSFIRE,
or is it all of 2009, 2010 rolled into one with multiplayer ,
Is there a site somewhere that gives us an indepth look at all changes and improvements to 2012 from 2010

Top left corner of this page is an advert for this creation, I missed it also and wondered why folk were on about it.

Yes, because clearly Auran only want to sell 2500 copies, and the Special Edition is the only version that is going to be available.
Really? Well, well.

Good thing you were here to explain that. I'm sure I'd never have worked that out for myself. :)

Lotto.

Well I'm off to the shops to buy a couple of lottery tickets for tonight's draw. I only need to get 4 out of six and I can have a special edition to put with my collection. I still have my 2006 tin in its box. ;)
