What is Trainz Simulator?

Hey guys,

I saw someone mention that Trainz was a simulation of a model railroad, and that the locomotives and rolling stock were smaller then in other sims, take Dovetail games. Is this true?

I don’t believe it is, just because you have the choice when building a route to choose which scale you want, whether that be real scale, or a model scale. When in real scale, the trains look actual size, and quite realistic. In my opinion, much of the content in Trainz is much higher quality than that of other simulators, and much more versatile. What does everyone think?

There is a Trainz product called Model Railroadz 2017 or something, forget the title. It has simulated model railroads in rooms.

It is exactly that, what you make out of it!
The scale in Trainz is 100% correct.
Most content creators keep the scale of their models according to the reality.

So it is up to you. Everything else reminds me to di.. comparisons, Each software has its advantages and disadvantages ...
Couldn't agree more!

@josefdoc - I mainly use the sim for building model railroads. I like to super-detail all my trackside scenery, so building MRR's let's me do that without the headache of super-detailing a large 1:1 scale route.
I also enjoy making detailed scenery models, which takes up more time. It's a good balance for me 🍻 (y) 🤟

By making the surrounding bigger (walls, furniture, etc.) the Trainz objects look smaller in relation. Thus if they are 87 times larger than normal, the Trainz objects will be effectively in HO scale. So while the Trainz objects don't change in size, different scales can be represented by changing the size of other objects. This is thus the reverse of what happens in model trains where the train objects change size while the rest of the world doesn't.
