What is Trainz Simulator 12 ?

Maybe he knows something and can't say!

Hi Harold,

;) If so, there are times in life when silence is golden and a wealthy asset, lest possible customers could get annoyed by not very kind comments. This is a classic in the world of business.

Why do you assume the negative?

Every iteration I have owned is better. The better content coming from third party people. I don't think I have used much of any Auran built-in.

I just want a better sim to run the stuff I like on.

I consider the act of Auran/N3V staff applying their facsimile signatures to a tin can very pretentious of them. Especially when placing what appears to be an updated version of TS2010 inside and then asking £92 for it!

pre-ten-tious/priˈtenCHəs/

Adjective: Attempting to impress by affecting greater importance, talent, culture, etc., than is actually possessed.

Harold, Harold,

IMHO that has nothing to do with Justin Cornell's having fun at 'ridiculous' opinions. Always the same old story from a few trainzers over here, 'what you say is ridiculous, what I say or I teasingly hide is god's word'.

I support your wishes of having a better sim, but not at any price. ;) Airline companies' sims are worth millions in whatever-you-like currencies, but a home amusement like this should be priced according to its social usage. T12 seems not to be social, it seems to be that... "for 2500 collectors".

Of course, I remember -believe me, I recall it very well from inside- the times when, after the well-to-do DVD LE TRS2006 was sold out, the poorer plain DVD and six-CD versions were released. Just a question of time. Nothing new in the sun, but dearer.

Take care,

The ridiculous side of Alberte , who has been NDActed a few times before others.

But you know it's always gonna be the same ol same ol...

Those of us who can will, those of us who can't won't and will call those of us who can Auran/N3V "fanboys" and suckers and such...

I have been called such when I went from 04 to 06, from 06 to 09 and now from 09 to 10 and just the mention of going to 12 brings it up again...

Ya know what, I ain't been disappointed yet. Every new version has been better than the last. I won't comment on the TC's cause I just beta'ed TC3 and really had no interest in running it...

I don't cling to 1 computer my whole life and expect to run em all on it. If 12, 13,14,15 etc require more horsepower I will either get it or go as far as hardware will take me but I wont cry that the software has bugs if my hardware wont run it...

I will never feel bad or ashamed to support Auran /N3V as long as they are working to make it better.

Just the way I see it...

And the winner is...

Auran!

And?

Let me guess you want em to lose and then what?

In the real world private businesses are not socialized like dang near everything in England...

They work within a little thing called the private enterprise system and if they create something that someone is willing to buy then they shouldn't be ashamed of that...

Now that being said if you don't want it, fine sit on your thumbs and wait. But to criticize a company for "trying to make money" well that is just nuts...

If you think ANYONE should sit around somewhere and create something for you to enjoy for free then you have really had a warped upbringing...:hehe:

I beg to differ, it's not a tin; it's "a stunning Collector's Edition Metal Case signed by the entire Trainz team". That has to be worth at least a hundred!:D

I have a copy of Trainz 2004 signed by the Auran crew. Real signatures too. Somehow I doubt the Trainz team is going through ahnd signing 2500 copies of Trainz.

That's how I feel about this too. Particularly since this is the only non-business program I use on my computer. I've spent more money on worse commercial applications than what I've paid for Trainz and the system upgrades over the years!

I can see I have to make a big decision to make.
$150 for a game or food on my table & other little nice to haves like electricity, water, medication .
I can't afford that on my pension!.Besides I have a LTFCT already & a TS2006 metal case.
Mind you the metal bits have fallen off the plastic case underneath after the plastic hinges broke.

Makes you wonder what country-of-origin is stamped on the bottom (or where ever) on that tin of yours. :o :p ;)

Regards.

Based on the Russian and Chinese routes, locomotives and rolling stock I've downloaded from various foreign sites, at least two of the routes which seem to be included in TS12 might be real winners.

I'm looking forward to this.

A very appropriate comment from someone tied into the N3V Sales and Marketing world.

http://www.auran.com/auran/store/index.php?p=2&category=41&platform=1&sort=1

Have fun,

oh cmon, its those comments im talking about. all the assumptions and flaming, jeez guys lighten up. my comment was not at all related to my ties in the sales and marketing of N3V. it was about how all of you are making these statements and not one of you seems to know up from down. why not wait till you see whats going to happen before starting a hatefest over it? there are some great things ahead, these tins not being amongst the greatest... :hehe:

Isn’t that what creators have been doing for many years, making and uploading, not just for free but at their own expense in terms of time and research.

And now they are expected to buy a newer version and relearn methods.

Maybe that’s why many are no longer contributing and why they now might just agree with you mrscsi.

:(

Have you downloaded anything from the DLS? It's all been made for free. In point of fact by the time you take into account graphics software purchased for textures and the stack of books for research most content creators are actually producing their content at a loss even if some is very high quality.

Cheerio John

Why all the pre-release doom and gloom?? Is the price really that ridiculous??

My TS10 example only, and I have not bought a lot. The following are $AUD prices I paid, at the time of release... not the existing discounted prices through bundling and/or depreciation over time.

$49.95 TS2010
$34.95 TS S&C
$34.95 TS Murchison 2
$24.95 Blue Comet

$144.80 Sub-Total.

That's just Auran's/N3V's gear. Add in the odds and sods from Jointed Rail, RR Mods and Trainz Italia, and it rolls out to be a sizeable amount. Is this part about additional payware relevant??...well if the Mojave Sub is included in TS 12, I would expect there to be some quality JR stuff to run on it. You guys get it now??

Thing is, we all know many of the whiners and whingers in this thread, have spent similar or more for their current version of TS... not to mention owning both 09+10. This is point where you need to get real.. and simply get over it. :hehe:

Admittedly, this gig is not the cheapest hobby... although much cheaper than N, HO or O scale however!!

At the end of the day...
1) It's only the initial announcement!! None in the retail market are fully comprehensive as it keeps the competition guessing as well! You never show your hand to start with.
2) Your choice to shell out $149.99 or not. Nobody is forcing your hand or holding you at gunpoint (I hope!!).

norfolksouthern37 is only partially correct about the ridiculous comments and conclusions already posted... add to that wildly speculative, uninformed and thoughtless as well.

And NO... I do not market for Auran/N3V, nor do I have any association or affiliation with them :D
