Trainz Update Announcement (SP5)

Now the rails have completely disappeared. Thanks a lot.
How so? More details needed before we can express sympathy, understanding, or agreement...
Or is this just a measure of your patience, perhaps?
One thing I've learned about Trainz in all the years I have run this remarkable simulator since the original Trainz program came out is that - after any major update (like a Service Pack e.g.), assets can take a lot longer to render in your routes and sessions upon first reload, particularly track.
It depends of course on your rig's performance specs and capabilities, and whether or not you (or N3V) have precached the shaders and assets before running the upgraded installation again.
I have a much more powerful rig now than I did back in the halcyon days of Trainz, TRS6, Trainz12, T:ANE and TRS19, etc. But I still have to force myself to be patient - and wait - whilst shaders and assets are cached upon first load - of what I know to be good performing routes and sessions - on first run following a patch or new installation.
Help us to understand what exactly you're experiencing (more data/ info) so that we can assist.
Many thanks! PC.

The issue is N3V has updated the interface to support the new features for Trainz Living Railroad, now only implemented in Plus. If you feel this is a bug, you need to fill out a bug report. The developers don't hang out in the forums and read every post.

Wellcars Containers Also same fate as TOFC Cars, You cannot not load 2 same containers to one wellcars, it's just like you cannot load 2 same Trailers into one TOFC Car

N3V Devs Should learn this mistake after the SP5 Update: Image

N3V Devs, I wish you can revert back to the original version of the Load/Unload View Details tab, Many Trainz Users are expierencing the same problem as me for the SP5 Update about the Cannot load 2 same Containers or Trailers onto the TOFC/Wellcars.

Thank You

Very probably not going to happen. The new load/unload interface is used by the new TLR feature so reverting back would, effectively, cancel the TLR.

As pointed out by @JCitron in a post above, you need to fill out a bug report at https://n3vgames.typeform.com/to/xRdryu and not just post about in these forums in the hope that someone from N3V will take notice. Your reports lack the details needed to help identify the possible source of the issue, a bug report will fill some of those gaps.

Normally I would fill out a bug report myself to help you but as these assets are payware I am not going to pay $US30 (possibly $AU50+) just to get these assets for a bug report.

Many Trainz Users are expierencing the same problem
Many??? You and possibly 2 or 3 others have reported this issue here in these forums. I do not doubt that you are having this issue and that it may be related to the SP5 update. I appreciate that "bugs" can be very frustrating but there are always other options that can be used until a fix is found - for example, make do with only one trailer loaded on each well car.

After exercising the work around my tracks would disappear. Only the track bed remained. The problem remained until completing a database repair. That's when the track reappeared. A service pack update is to address and fix problems. Not create more problems than it solved or replace perils that were eliminated with different issues.

Has anyone run the TLR session in the coal route HD? I find the coal trains work but other trains get commands and drive their routes but don't load or unload any trains.
I just ran the session for about 3 hours without problems. The only thing I noticed once was the log train getting confused by going to the lumber yard with empty cars but the system corrected itself and sent the train to the timber yard for logs and it worked fine after that.

Well, in this Trainz Living Railroad Tutorial Video, You can see there's a Legacy View Details Load/Unload Tab

Trainz Living Railroad Tutorial Video
☝️
Click top of the highlighted Link Text

And go to 1:24 there's the legacy version of the View Details Load/Unload Tab

It's the only pain, SP5 is the worst update ever, it can't load 2 Same Trailers or 2 Same Containers on the TOFC/Wellcars

I Wish N3V Devs Could Fix it 😭😭😭
And you should bring back this feature, new SP5 update is painful, you can't load 2 same Trailers or Containers into the TOFC/Wellcars now due to the painful SP5 Update

I wish you can bring it back

Thanks for the reply, Wreeder. One more question, Have you updated JR Multi Industry II to version 18. I have and I think this may be causing the problem in the session.

No, the version installed in my Trainz Plus beta is from Aug 2021. That is a good guess as to the cause of the issue. My Beta install is a pretty virgin install.

Edit: I just installed the newest one. I'll see what happens.

That forum is now a week old and the original post (yours) is still the only one. What does that tell you?

Well, in this Trainz Living Railroad Tutorial Video, You can see there's a Legacy View Details Load/Unload Tab
That video is using a very old beta version - several beta versions ago. I followed the steps of the video, even switching back to Surveyor Classic as used in the video (yuk!), and my display was very different - no legacy View Details/Unload tab.

Have you submitted a bug report yet? If not then this conversation is at an end.

You've had constant issues prior to the patch that were not even related to the SP5 update that no one else is experiencing before or since the update.

After getting my own content sorted out, I did some work on my routes and did some driving. My very busy Gloucester Terminal Electric with its 14 drivers buzzing around the route, in addition to trains arriving from portals, worked fine. I had that session running for well over 4 hours before I quit and did some texture and Turf-FX updating and at 3:00 am it was time to nap.

My Enfield and Eastern, whose roots date back to January 2004, loaded up fine and I continued adding in Turf-FX grass and PBR textures. At well over 200 miles in length and far from complete, this process has taken hours at a time.

As always, backups are more than just something to do, just because. Many of us utilize simple backups such as copying the complete data folder to an external drive. At nearly 2 TB, mine takes about 3-1/2 to 4 hours to complete. I run my backups at night so not to interrupt them by poking or clicking on something in error. These backups are done in addition to saving WIP and completed works to cdp files.

I did but I didn't see the notification

That is your problem. The new version appears incompatible to the way it is used in that session. I deleted it and the library that also downloaded with it and everything is working again

Well, the N3V Devs Really needed to revert back to the original view details load/unload tab, the new one looks very awful, Because you can't load 2 same trailers or containers to the one Wellcars or TOFC Cars, many of the trainz users were disappointed due to the SP5 update

I hope n3v devs can fix this problem, thank you

many of the trainz users were disappointed due to the SP5 update
The disappointment was due to a bug in the handling of track assets by the update, an easy workaround is available and has been posted many times in these forums.

SP5 is the worst update ever

You obviously have not been around as long as I and others have. The initial T:ANE release still holds the title of the "worst update ever" - it took several SP updates to fix all its issues. TRS22 SP5 does not even come close to that.
