I just downloaded this route and I've got to say, it's freaking awesome. Great work!!! I wish all the industries would be configured though. I can never seem to figure out how to do it right. Any way, great work! The tour and time table really made it realistic. I like that you did that because I'm terrible with figuring out how to schedule trains. Made it feel more like the real thing.

Thanks very much, Joe!

I am also glad you enjoyed the tour and timetable.

I really try to opertate the route with realistic operations. I even fill out track warrants when I operate - especially to schedule meets with AI trains.

You or anyone else are welcome to PM me if you would like help with the industries! :D

Bill

You're welcome! To be honest, I'm extremely picky with the routes that I choose to operate and a lot just end up sitting on my computer without ever seeing any action. But this route might just be 'the one' lol, the one that may continue to see plenty of operation.

One question tho, or comment at least. From what I've been able to tell in the few hours of operating this route, it's self sustainable. Meaning all of the industries are online. Every product ends up some where else on the same route without having to arrive or depart into a portal. Is my assumption correct? Is it in fact possible to operate this route endlessly once populated with enough rolling stock for each industry?

Hi Bill,

Well I somehow managed to miss this thread when it began:hehe: , but I must say marvellous shots. I immediately fired up the CMP, but got the dreaded "0.00 bytes left for today" error, so I have to resolve that first. But hey, "all good things come to those who wait", so I'll be patient...

Hi Jan:

Thanks for the compliments on the screen shots. About the bandwidth -- you are in luck! The route and documents that go with it are not on the DLS.

You can download them instantly at this thread:

http://forums.auran.com/trainz/showpost.php?p=379075&postcount=1

Be sure to download the dependencies that are listed there also.

The tour, rulebook, and timetable will also help you operate the route easily.

Enjoy and please post some screenshots when you get it going!

Bill

Well, just as I was uploading the screens to photobucket last night, my internet died, but I am back now, and the Reading is running on this beautiful route.

A pair of Reading Lines GE U30Cs pulls a long consist of anthracite down the line.

Thank you jadebullet for such an awesome compliment. And thanks for posting screen shots! Can't wait to see more... :D

Where did you get those nice engines?

Bill

Oh those... They are my reskinned U30Cs that I have been working on. I will be releasing them once I get permission.

Edit due to a problem with getting the asset not to be faulty, it will probably be a while until it is released unfortunately. But don't worry, I will have other locos coming out, such as the SW1500 that I have reskinned and the GP9 reskin that are both in Reading colors.

Hi Bill,

Got everything sorted yesterday. Using trs2006 there where some assets to be fixed and, with the CMP as it is, that took some time ;) Actually there was only one asset I couldn't get right, the "Caboose #3 Scenery" from Elvenor that seemed to be missing a mesh file. Curious indeed :D
Oh well, here are some shots from the first trial run from Grafton to Allegheny

Leaving the Yard

Definitly left Grafton behind

Somewhere en route making people miss their appointments :hehe:

I must say for a European never been in the States it definitly feels the part. Nice realistic athmosphere, this certainly wetted my appetite to explore more

Btw, if you have suggestions for types of rolling stock and operators I'm interested.

Greetings from rainy Amsterdam,

Nice shots.

By the way, just a quick update. The U30C reskin is currently awaiting approval for the DLS. This is a very fun route to run by the way. I have been using it for all of my screenshots for the thumbnail of my content, and also to show it off.

I am so glad you are enjoying the route and feel like its worthy to show off.

May I ask what is it about the route that "sets it apart" to be enjoyable compared to some?

I just downloaded the route, and I have to agree, the route is awesome! :Y: :Y:

Here are a couple screens from me:

I realize this next one is the same as the 2nd pic, but I took a couple different views.

Again, spectacular work!

What I like about it is that it looks realistically like it is in the Appalachian range of PA and that it runs all right with frame rates. Also, Reading looks darn good on it. I really have to start running more on it. Lately, I have just been swept up in reskin fever lol. The emphasis on coal also helps, as that is what Reading is known for. Now, if only the vegetation could get fixed. (Darn TRS09 alpha texture problem. I really hope that they fix this with the next service pack.)
