1976, you may be jealous of this, and I don't want to brag, but I got the Athearn F7 A-B, GS4 #4449 and I believe 10-13 Daylight cars for free from my now-deceased grandpa. Actually, it was a funny way I got it, as my brother and I went over to his house to help him clean and organize some of his model trains downstairs. When we got to a box of stuff, there, on top were tons of boxes labeled showing that they were Daylight cars and locomotives. When he showed us the 4449 I said "I bet your never going to get rid of that because of it's story" or something to that effect. But then he said" You want it? Here! Take it home with you." I was so surprised and I didn't really want to take it, but he insisted that I did. A few years later he died at about 9 A.M. at his house. I was on a school trip to the Kalamazoo Air Zoo, and my dad didn't tell me he had died until he told me to go to my mom and give her a hug once we got home, then my mom told me.
