Update Obsolete Items

Hi forum,

Have downloaded route from DS and find some items marked as obsolete. Is there a way of auto updating to latest version. Once latest version updated, how do I change coding in dependent kuid.

You do not need to do anything regarding the obsolete items. All this means is that a newer version of the asset is already installed, which Trainz will use.

The only time you need to do anything about obsolete items is if it is faulty or is causing another asset to become faulty.

My question on this is: A new one is the one used. Does it make sense to delete the old one? if anything just to reduce clutter or make room in the HDD...

You can delete the old ones if you have no problem with the new version. I have downloaded new versions only to find that they are faulty, like the driver 'Atari' for example which is missing a mesh. What I do is download the updates, check for faulty or missing dependencies. If I don't see any, I then delete the old assets and move on.

You can go about deleting all you want ... but you won't see much, if any difference, on disc space on your hard drive ... if it ain't broke, don't try to fix it
