I know it is hard to single out any one route over another particularly with freeware, but I finally got round to downloading and trying Ultimate Highlands. Armed with my now non-hissing Rail-sim UK Mark Ones and the equally superb Class 14 Teddybear and Class 17 Clayton I have been embarking on a tour.
Obviously the route is not to scale or exact prototype and uses fictional linking sections but the atmosphere is there and that is what counts. The author has also done a superb job with the scenery, another terrain painting equivalent of John Constable!
For those who have more experience of the route, is there a recommended sequence in which to tour the whole line - including where to reverse/run round the player train?
Many thanks to all concerned.
