Poole is shaping up - the canopies are hopefully temporary until I can get something more prototypical in game but they help to give an overall feel of the station.

M7 30108 (a regular performer on the Swanage branch at the time) is seen here on an afternoon Brockenhurst-Bournemouth West service with a Pull-Push train. In the opposite platform is a lengthy express from Waterloo bound for Weymouth with a Lord Nelson in charge, albeit out of sight.

Got my new PC rig up and running for about 1 week now, despite still being busy with work, I've made some time to tinker with my settings on TRS22
I'm pleased to say I can run TRS22 at fairly high settings now on larger routes at a much smoother framerate than my laptop (yes, even dearnbyshire - which I see as an absolute win as that was the route the laptop struggled with the most). The following are some screenshots from when I was testing the new settings the other day on the F&WVJR St.Ives route.

Branksome is complete - and with it, the last station on the route is now done. Branksome's canopies were dead easy to do in the end as they are a uniform shape and they're made up of 3 spline sections (two ends and a middle section). I'm not sure why all my screenshots are trainless, I do run trains on the route, promise...

So would I usually, but I can't leave it looking like that. I'm going to have one more go at creating it as a static object and then call it a day. If anyone is interested in a paid commission though, please let me know! I have plenty of excellent reference drawings from Network Rail so someone with more skill than I should have better luck.

I don't know about everyone else, but I think there are quite a few canopies that you've made that would translate into splines pretty well. The best one I can think of off the top of my head is the flat canopy that was used at Blandford Forum which SR/BR(S) used in a lot of their Stations across the region:

Jay made a LOT of great canopy splines but there are a lot more that remained untouched. Some of the unrepresented canopy splines would do wonders for authentic Southern modelers like myself.

It could be, we do need a new series of canopies in game and being quite general designs they could be reskinned for other regions. The only catch is that they have to be assembled, so two end sections and a middle section, so unless you're using S2.0 they'd have to be splines that can snap to each other like roads are. Is there a specific tag that has to be used to allow splines to connect to different assets?

Hi PLP, couldn't the two end sections just be exported as endcaps. Works for me on my canopies.

Regards,

John

@Tanker46, the canopies have just been uploaded to the DLS, so assuming no issues should hopefully be available within 48 hours.

At the minute I can't get them to snap to each other, so until I figure it out you'll have to use Surveyor 2.0 to place a canopy start, middle and end section and then replace each part with its relevant asset - for example, Poole canopy left section, Poole canopy middle section and Poole canopy right section. If it's on a straight platform, you can just line them up by eye too.

Bulleid Pacific 34066 Spitfire departs with a train to Exeter. The S&D platform is on the right hand side:

Meanwhile S15 30847 is seen passing the busy goods yard on a return working headed for Salisbury - happily this loco has been preserved on the Bluebell Railway. Bearing in mind Templecombe was a tiny village, the station and facilities were certainly impressive.

About to enter the station, though on this occasion not scheduled to stop here:

The same train is also seen crossing over the S&D line just east of Templecombe station, looking south towards Henstridge. The platform in this shot is Templecombe Lower and was not often used, though crew changes took place here and the last up service of the day from Bournemouth always stopped here too.

Today we follow a 4F on its journey through Barrow-in-Furness with a workers' train - from Millom to the Vickers industries on Barrow Island.

Looks like a certain someone forgot to set a headcode too. :)

I can picture the driver shooing away thomas fans. Something along the lines of "No, this isn't bound for that region, go catch the fast train if you want to go see the blue thing so bad!"

It's always interesting to see the old models that we thought were top quality at the time. Thankfully we have new(er) Ivatt's that do the job, though I'm sure we'll see some new, PBR versions in due course.

I haven't used DCC mode in ages, but in cab mode with the correct especs by 2995valliant it really is something to see how each locomotive performs. Each one is different and you need to spend a good amount of time to get to know the engine to be able to get the best out of it. Try one of the newer Ivatt's with the new espec and see how you get on in cab mode - it's certainly a challenge, especially if you don't know the route very well! I'm not sure 102mph will be on the cards mind...

The spec by 2995 works wonders. 60mph in both cab and dcc. Soon i'll get her a new whistle and get her working like an actual tender loco (the loco oddly has coal and water with it for loads, and feeds off of that, not the tender).

DCC Mode is the perfect thing when you get off 12-hour work shifts and just want to run things for a good winding down. It's a wonderful feature that I am so glad that Trainz has retained all these years and one of the definitive things that makes it so different from Railworks and makes it so much fun!

That being said, Realism Mode also has a lot of positive qualities too as it's starting to become a much more prominent mode as it starts catching up with what is being used in RW.

Been working on Polegate. Took 2995Valiant's Reskin of Trainboi's Standard 4 on a spin. Brighton had two Standard 4MTs 2-6-0 on it's roster in the 1950s, but I was recently informed that they sported BR1B Tenders like their other siblings distributed across the Southern Region. Although I've received this information, I can't get enough of Valliant's reskin and will continue to use it. It's absolutely beautiful!!

I very much like your pics of the Furness peninsular, Barrow in Furness and Barrow Island, they're very reminiscent of the time I lived in Barrow when employed by VSEL in the shipyard there in the mid 1980's through to the late 1990's. Great looking route, I do hope you make it available someday.

Rob.
