You're doing an excellent job with it so far! I must admit I don't know too much about the Furness beyond the Pre-Grouping locomotive classes, but I am familiar with the shed allocations during the 1950s. There were Johnson 2Fs, Fowler 4Fs, Ivatt Class 2 and 4s and a LOT of Jintys!

Our resident modeler Jupiter made a nice selection of lesser-known BR/LMS Locos allocated at 11B a shot while ago. They should be perfect for your Furness Route! GP Locomotives also did really good renditions of both the Stanier 4P Tank and the Stanier Black Five - two extremely numerous classes at Furness.

And here is the fast train: the 14:00-ish London St Pancras to "the Place Which Must Not Be Named" - or rather the ocean floor, as the track we see it on in the last image ended on a jetty in the Walney channel in real life. Starring edh6's fantastic A3 in the role of that other A3 from those books.
(Apologies for this, but I couldn't resist. Will go hide in the back of the shed now.)

M7 30107 on a pull-push working from Brockenhurst destined for Bournemouth West in the summer of 1957.
Pausing briefly at Creekmoor Halt:
Awaiting departure from Poole:
Powering away from Poole, the crew prepare to tackle the 1:60 Parkstone bank. While not an issue for the plucky M7 with its light load, this could be a fearsome challenge for crews of longer trains as they only had a short run up from Poole station, due in part to the very sharp curve, hence the 20mph speed limit.
Jumping ahead to arrival at Bournemouth West; the M7 is crossing over Surrey Road bridge and past the allotments tended by the railway staff, part of which can be seen in the foreground:

. Though I got the impression that it was somewhat of a tired topic among railway people? Haha. & it sadly didn't today, it's in fact heading from Barrow back towards what would be North Western rails

Hi Annie - A bit of Route trivia for you. Plasmawr Road is in Cardiff, and I spent a year (1964!) there in a college on Plasmawr Road!It's all gone a bit quiet around here hasn't it?
I took a snap at Plasmawr Road today. I've been neglecting 'Tristyn in Winter' a bit what with one thing and another so you might see some more snaps fairly soon.

I was wondering if some of your place names on 'Tristyn' were based on real locations.
As you can see I decided that Plasmawr Road needed a pair of halt platforms as well as a siding for the benefit of the surrounding farms.

Probably, even though they are lot of remakes of either that story, super rescue and maybe even the missing coach people (myself included with the missing coach) for trainz
