Turnout glitch during sessions

Well, yet again i run into one of the most frustrating glitches in trainz that never have or will get fixed. So, what happens is, when i load a session to uh..ya know..drive trains, there are a couple random turnout levers that show 2 red arrows even though they are set up correctly. If i exit and load the session again, the same levers are not broken and different ones are and if i try to pass them, they derail my train. If i set an AI train to go thru the turnout, it derails too so there is NO way to fix it without exiting which pisses me off to no end. Replacing the turnouts completely helps 0%, and moving the levers themselves does absolutely nothing.

Don't question my speeding.....or track clashing.....

Looking at the screenshot at the point where the three tracks join (it looks like two different track types are in use) it does appear that there is a small disconnection at the junction, but I concede that this may simply be an artifact of the different track types. If this is the case then it is possible that the tracks have not been joined correctly, hence the junction lever showing two red arrows. It would be easier to tell if the screenshot was taken in Surveyor where the track splines would be visible and a white spline circle at the junction would normally be an indication of a faulty join.

In my experience, these non-functioning junction problems are always caused by an incorrectly made junction, no matter what claims are made to the contrary.

Delete the junction and the three joining tracks and carefully remake the junction using the same track type for all tracks.

I have found in some circumstances a third (possibly invisible) line may need to be added on the two track side to deal with that issue.

The auto placement of levers is very often to tight on the junction and the sim sometimes gets confused as to which side of the junction it is on. I always move the lever nearer the outer edge of the spline circle to avoid that situation from happening.

I checked again to see if they were disconnected but they are most certainly snapped together. the rails height difference is just visual.

Is it possible that the speed limit sign right next to the junction is causing the problem?

UPDATE: Now this only happens on 2 junctions, the one pictured above and another one. BUT, they only screw up after loading a saved session and they still cannot be passed.

Are the junction levers and track on a route layer? If not, that causes problems on some builds when resuming a game.

i haven't ever experimented with layers so everything is (should be, anyways) on the same layer.

Have you tried deleting the lever and then reinstating? That's worked for me on a couple of occasions where I laid a turnout badly. Moving an adjacent spline somewhere just up the track can also cause your turnout to throw a wobbly and, again, the solution is to replace the lever.

Good luck
Alan

If you created the junction levers while editing the session then they might be on the wrong layer. Do yourself a favor and check the properties of the levers and see what layer they are on, rather than assuming they are where you think you put them.

If the levers disappear when you hide the session layer then they are on the session layer.

Ahh the answer to my prayers. Been racking my brain for months trying to figure this one out. Merged my session to my route layer and all is well now. Thank you kindly for the information. Really big help.
