Trainz Update Announcement (SP6)

I still wonder if moving from TANE to 22 was a mistake. Should I have just got 19 instead?
Individual experiences will vary.

Either version of 22 is far superior to TANE, but 22PE with its inclusion of Surveyor 2.0 is clearly (in my individual experiences) the better of the two TRS22 versions and better than TRS19 (either version).

In addition to the jellyfish guts, many if not most PBR textures are over-sized, don't scale well and become more like carpet when used to fill large areas.

Because of this, I turned down shader quality to Basic. This turns off the 3d component in PBR textures and allows them to behave with 2d textures when I have used them for various things such as rocks, sand, and farmland. The other benefit is running with basic shader quality is there's a bit of performance increase and lower temperatures due to less work for the video card.
I've been gradually scaling some of them down and trying to remove the carpet effect. and also making them a bit more MB efficient by shrinking the file size,as long as it doesn't degrade the image , 36mg or more for a basic texture seems excessive to me.

I'm running TS22 PE build 128487, I assume this isn't SP6 is there a way to get to SP6? It doesn't show on check for trainz updates.

Thanks John

and is there a magic way to do this?

Thanks John
I can't go step-by-step on what I did, as the button now says "Update Available" and I'm not updating. On the initial launcher screen, it may be the bottom button, but whatever gets you to the "Change update stream" popup box. I didn't actually change the update stream, but at some point it had me log-in, despite already being logged-in, and afterwards the updates began to reappear. I'm on (for probably not much longer) Plus Gold, so not sure if it would be the same issue, but might help.

Ta adding in the name and password then running in an admin account seems to have got there. It's just taking its time checking for faulty assets at the moment.

Thanks John
