I still wonder if moving from TANE to 22 was a mistake. Should I have just got 19 instead?

Individual experiences will vary.

Either version of 22 is far superior to TANE, but 22PE with its inclusion of Surveyor 2.0 is clearly (in my individual experiences) the better of the two TRS22 versions and better than TRS19 (either version).

Guess the new hotfix is out, no more rubber-banding, and I think it performs even better than before! Good job N3V!
