Screenshots from dropbox not visible within thread. Solution?

Hello,

I noticed that my screenshots within this thread ( https://forums.auran.com/trainz/showthread.php?115595-Belgian-routes&highlight=belgian46 ) are no longer available.

I tried to solve it by replacing the link into the insert image option, but that didn't help.

When creating a new thread and adding a screenshot link into the insert image option, I only get this square image
1_Knokke%20train%20station.jpg
. ( which apperently is only visible for me when creating or editing my threads )

Has anyone using dropbox got a solution for this issue?

Kind regards

Yes, there is a solution but I'm on the road at the moment and will not be home for a while. Can I suggest looking at the images that I've linked to my Dropbox folder, here:

https://forums.auran.com/trainz/showthread.php?109038-Model-Railroadz/page174

Right click on one of the images and copy the address. If you compare my link with yours you should be able to work out what to change in your link to make it visible in these Forums. Tell me if this helps

Hello Phil,

Thank you for your reply :).

With your answer I was able to find the error within the link which is given when I right click ( copy link ) on the picture within my specific dropbox folder.

I will send an email to dropbox about this phenomenon.

Thanks again.

Kind regards

Don't contact Dropbox. The link they provide is OK for sharing files which, after all, is the real reason for Dropbox.

Dropbox was not designed as a way to display images by hot linking.

The work round is to take the link and then change it. In the Dropbox link, change:
www.dropbox.com
to
dl.dropboxusercontent.com

You should then be good to go.

Hello Phil,

Thank you for the extra info.

Yes indeed, changing the www.dropbox.com element into dl.dropboxusercontent.com was the solution. Something I didn't had to do in the past. In the past the copy link element, dl.dropboxusercontent.com was already incorporated. This is now changed.

As this seems to be a normal situation, I will not not send an email to Dropbox.

Kind regards

I would suggest to just use the Trainz Gallery instead.
Advantage is that you can even upload to it from inside TANE.
