I just tried loading Pennsylvania & Berwind 2.0 in Trainz 22 and it crashes, causing Trainz to immediately quit. I haven’t loaded that route in months. What can cause that? I’m still on SP5 because I read that SP6 has issues with that route. Is there a way to fix it short of installing another Trainz 22 and try loading it without service packs, or running a DBR in my present Trainz 22? I could also try restarting my computer. I’ll try the DBR first, then restart, then if that fails install a new Trainz 22 without service packs. What is the minimum Trainz version needed for P&B 2.0?
Just for info, having gone thru many Trainz versions over the years and finding out what in one Route would work with an older Version, and then buying a new Version of Trainz, that Route now has one or all of the following issues. Errors, Crashes Faulty Assets.
With that said, I now run two Versions of Trainz, TRS19 and TRS22 both Platinum editions. I also use PEV's Tools when possible to fix simple stuff, like missing Texture issues Etc.
The one thing that gets in the way, PAYWARE protected developed assets, that generally if they go bad or fall under Version 3.5 non supported assets. You can't fix them, most of the time.
The end result, if said Payware or other non-payware assets don't work anymore in either of these Versions of Trainz I run, I delete the offending Assets. Or in case of Payware, I disable, when Trainz won't let me delete them.
Also when one of these Trainz Version, now only in TRS22 occurs, then I have to make sure after a Version Update, to do DBase Rebuild and Verification, afterwards making sure I do Faulty Assets run, see what shows, fix it or delete it.
In conclusion, when I went to TRS22 Platinum, I ended up having to uninstall some of my older DLS or DLC products to clear up crashes or Faulty Payware Route Etc.
Your mileage will vary accordingly.
Most important in all of this, make sure you have backed up your Assets, and/or Trainz Files in a separate Drive and/or a Good Cloud back up. You decide how much time and hassle you want to invest in your backup.
