NEW ROUTE-CSX COLUMBIA SC to SAVANAH GA.

After going back and looking the pics for the tropicana plant, I have decided to post pone placing them here.I'm not satisfied with the pics and feel that at this time they do not fit with the rest of the CSX S-Line route. Once improvements have been made, then I'll post them.

Yes there are updates to this route, but due to conflicts with auran and some younger members here, I have stopped posting updates here. You can PM me for the location of the updated pics.At this time how ever the route on hold pending the outcome of three beta testers that I'm using. Further this thhread will be closed and deleted this coming monday.

Does this line run through Charleston, SC?
The CSX S-line out of columbia does not run directly into charleston. Trains leaving Columbia (CSX CAYCE YARD) will go into Savannah and then turn the road power and make the run into charleston.
I was just looking over some of these screen shots and I have updated and improved alot of the scene. These new pics can veiwed on my site. Also if you would like a sneak peak and run the route( what I have completed so far)please feel free to PM me for details. With in the week, I'll be looking for some beta testers.
Further I'll moving all the pics from here over to my site.I'll leave this post up, but from here on out, all screenies posts will be made on my site. I hope to you see over there soon.

Well considering this my thread, I guess it's ok if I bump it. Normally I won't this but I feel that is worth sharing.
The CSX S-line route is not by any means dead or vapor ware.
The current has 78 of the 198 miles in place. But there is big kink in the game plan. Most of the content is out of date, and the trees in 2012 have gone the way of the ghost.
So I decided to stop all work on the route some time back and start gathering new content. I have worked very closely with several content creators to bring on new content. Well by now it's new for the route.
Also I have decide that the route should take the name of the line thru Columbia.
With all that being said, I;m currently in the process of an entire ground up rebuild. I have changed the name of the route to the CSX FLORENCE DIVISION V5.0.
At the current time both NS and CSX bridges are in place as is Devine Street Jct in downtown Columbia. I'm currently working my south and have already completed the Carolina Eastman plant (AKA Eastman Kodak).
New to this route is the World Head Quarters for Harsco Rail (TAMPER CORP) located in Cayce SC. While this plant produces the MOW machines for all of Harsco Rail, it's really rather small. The plant also features the only slide transfer table that I know of in South Carolina.
Also the CSX Cayce yard and CMC Steel is complete. At this moment I'm working the CSX AUTO Terminal in Dixiana. All of these locations can be found on Google Earth. As with the first route, this route is 100% proto. Sometime over the next couple of days I'll get the new screen shots up. For now I guess that about covers it. For those that can't wait, the new shots are up in the SAXT Forums. You can find it by clicking the link below my sig.

Welcome to the CSX Florence Division located in South Carolina. The CSX Florence Division covers almost 200 miles of single track main line track in the midlands of South Carolina. For single track railroading this line has some rather large industries along the line. Most notable are the Auto terminal in Dixiana, DAX chemicals (formerly Eastman Chemicals), and numerous others. In Columbia where the line makes a 90 degree turn south (at the Devin Street Jct) is the CSX Cayce yard and the Norfolk Southern Andrews yard. Now sitting next to Andrews and a CSX line is the Owens Field down town airport. Further seems how they closely follow each other, portions of Norfolk Southern will be on the route as well. This will include Harsco Rail which is headquartered in Cayce across the street from the Columbia Metro Airport. Harsco rail features the only slide transfer table in the State of South Carolina. When complete the route will travel in 1:1 scale from Sumter SC via Cayce/Columbia to Savannah Ga. Total main line miles will be around 198. At this I'm giving serious though to extending the route another 98 miles south to the town of Folkston. But we'll have to see about that.
For the first shots from this ground up rebuild we'll be seeing NS trains in Cayce SC. As a side note this route is 100% prototype. So any town I name can be seen on Google Maps or any map service that you care to use. So if you like look up Cayce SC.

Now we have some shots from the Cayce yard. These are from the North end of the yard. Cayce is really a big yard as those go. But at one time it was very busy. Now both grade crossings have been ripped up, the crossing arms are gone, and about 90% of the yard sits empty. So these shots harken back to much better days
