Nature Screenshots! (BIG and NUMEROUS pictures!)

Mine's a pint!

Killing time waiting for the pub to open.

Family enjoying the English summer countryside after driving down a secluded country lane.

My favourite type of vegetation, autumn vegetation (best regards to Jankvis for all-o-that:

Two worn-out diesels pass a girder steel down-arched bridge. Their rusty condition and noteable paintscheme give a hint, that the action takes place around 1988/1989.

Casper, I'am amazed with your work, those are more likely works of art with great way of seeing the railways then just regular screenshots.

Good evening everyone.

Thank you bolivar, FREDO93, Stationbeem & kilanziom for your kind comments.

kilanziom – your bridge shot is a beauty!

I agree, Jankvis’ trees are great, together with lots of other “star” tree creators.

My routes tend to be made up of several little scenarios where the cameras can be placed for passing trains. Provided the scenery can be built far into the distance for a reasonable screen shot, then there is very little scenery infilling, between the staged screenshots, that need to be done.

The ideas and inspiration for the little scenes come from my own digital camera shots, or pictures from old books.

This sim has really opened my eyes with regard to lighting, composition and everything nature has to offer. It has transformed my countryside walks. I now see an inspirational viewpoint, photograph it, and am immediately thinking about how it could be incorporated into Trainz, which appropriate asset to use and how to build a bit more route. (The great thing is that if a real tree is in the wrong place it can always be moved in Trainz). I love this sim!

Sign of a true addict I guess!

Well the pub still hasn’t opened! The kids are getting bored with kicking the football around and look for more exciting activities.

They’ve found a ladder, an old tyre and some rope round the side of the pub.

Mum does not approve.

“Get down from that tree now - if you fall and break your leg, don’t come running to me!”

Beautiful pictures there, Casper. Thanks for reminding me about those animated black swans, as I had forgotten about them. I just reskinned them....re-feathered them?.....into Mute Swans for my Florida route.

Hi gfisher.

Thank you for your kind remarks.

Yes, those swans are great fun. The originals by whecsailor are still on DLS - kuid:67261:35041, called Black Swan, (although you get two). They pirouette around quite sedately, change direction unexpectedly and are generally a joy to watch. A great asset is any rural wetland setting.Your re-feathered new white ones - are they likely to be made available at any 3rd party site in '04 please?

Another veeery nice one, also by whecsailor, is the Flying Geese, kuid:67261:35032. They are also animated and set by placing a small rabbit on the ground.

Then look into the sky.

I reckon there are around 20 of them, flying gently across the route in “V” formation. An absolutely brilliant piece of work!

Cheers
Casper

I hadn't really planned on it, but if there is any interest I may try to track down whecsailor to see how he feels about it on a third party site.

Yes please! I'd be delighted to have these re-feathered swans on my route.

They look really good - nice job. I assume they paddle around in the same way as whecsailor's original Black Swan version?

I suppose an individual static version, as well, would be too much to ask.:o

Yours hopefully,
Casper

They are animated and paddle around and move their heads. I didn't try to fool with any of that stuff. A very easy reskin to do for anyone with a good graphics editor. Took about 15 minutes.

That shot is absolutely superb George, and I say the same thing for mezzoprezzo and kilanzium. :D

Good evening everyone.

@ hope5. I agree - David Shepherd’s 9F is a great loco. I’m surprised it’s not seen here more often. His artwork (railways and wildlife), is also superb – a great inspiration for screenshots!

Here’s a front on view of “Black Prince” – with just a bit of nature (to keep on topic).

This one has a bit more nature (but more BR steamers!)
