Is Trainz going American?

I do not own Ts12 but taking one look at the loco list on another thread reveals a HUGE bias towards US stuff. For the next version of Trainz, N3V should look at going back to being "International". In TRS2004 there was a equal mix of trains from around the world. Looking at the TS12 loco list(http://forums.auran.com/trainz/showthread.php?t=71733&highlight=ts12+loco+list) they are no non-US steamers and very little in the way of UK/Australian locos, they only 7 Australian locos and all the british locos are 1980's blue deisels. Of course, there plenty of Aus/UK content creators but my fear is that Trainz will become a minority US intrest. Plus, the removal of Compatability Mode (Or however it's spelt) means that much good freeware Alex24 locos on the DLS will not work. Not that I have anything against US content creators but N3V needs have more international content. Including TC3 in TS14 or whatever would be a good idea. I do not have TS12 and I have no intention of buying it for the reasons above.

What problems are you having in getting these to work in TS12?

Works ok in my copy after a couple of corrections. (If you get TS12, let me know by PM and I'll see if I can get you up and running ok)

Half the routes are non-U.S., and consider also that Auran eliminated all legacy routes. Personally, I like all that old stuff, but Auran decided to start with a clean slate.

As for compatibility mode, that's been hacked to death. Auran's not bringing it back, and if you read up on the reasons why it was included in the first place, it would make more sense why it was eliminated: To wit, it was a temporary, stopgap measure in the first place.

Lastly, there is plenty of non-U.S. content out there. In fact, the non-U.S. stuff is mostly my favorite, especially the Romanian, Polish and Russian electric stuff and subways. So, yeah, I'd love to see more international stuff.

the too many us loco in ts 12 is that usa people create great contents which make them suitable to be added to game and if u say ts 12 is american then you are wrong bcz in ts 12 there are more russian contents then american so i think your appeal is not just

Seems that the marketing decision of where to expand sales based on content by N3V was easy.

It's nice to see Chinese stuff coming in as well, but I would like to see even more, maybe in the next one we could have an Indian route with people hanging off the coaches with one arm whilst waving at the camera man with the other.

Much as I love the US locos I grew up with, finding the stuff from other countries is just icing on the cake.

To my knowledge, none of the routes in TS12 were created by N3V. They were done by third-party creators. Anyone is welcome to talk to N3V about a project to be included in the next release.

I think if you do a search around the net for Trainz assets you will find there are more European goodies out then you realize.

If population doesn;t matter then A: How come earlier you were banging on about there is more American crap because there is a bigger population and B: We have nice big population (60 million is quite a lot) so why can't we have more UK content? I vote all nexusdj's, tmz06003 and all the other great UK creators out there's stuff is built in.

Ooh err, all the off topic-ness. Back on topic, they seems there is more European/UK content out there after having a look.
CaptainEngland: I do not have TS12. It was the lack of compatabilty mode that put me off buying it. The comment about the Alex23 A4s not working in TS12 was because they only work in 2010 when it's in compatibilty mode, so I would assume they wouldn't work in 12 without some fiddling with config.
