Is Trainz going American?

If population doesn;t matter then A: How come earlier you were banging on about there is more American crap because there is a bigger population:o and B: We have nice big population (60 million is quite a lot) so why can't we have more UK content? I vote all nexusdj's, tmz06003 and all the other great UK creators out there's stuff is built in.:)

bcz usa contents are great in quality where as uk contents if we talk about rolling stock dls is full of crap clas 37 and they are uploaded in such a big number that out of out of 50 pages of dls 25 pages are full of crap class 37
and second as one of us wrote above that all the contents are not mady by auran they are made by community so if no one from uk is making contents and submitting them to be added as built in then its not a auran fault
though there are some very nice uk models are available too but in small quantity
now its responsibility of uk people to create quality contents

Kamran, you really have no idea what you're talking about

The UK have many, many great creators, as does Australia, and and of course, the US. The US will have more Trainzers than a lot of other countries as it is the richest country in the world, and probably the most luxurious. People can buy Computers and Hardware cheaper in the US than other countries.

also, it is not the size of the population, but the ratio of the population. If 1% of the US loved trains, then 3.1 Million + people would love trains, while in Australia, 220 000 people would love trains, and in the UK, 600 000 people would love trains. However, for some reason, more people in the US like/love trains

i wrote some thing similar to what you write and also wrote that no doubt there are some really nice uk contents big example is emcl king cross route
but that guy was saying american contents crap so i have to wrote this

kamran,
please don't start an argument you can't finish. I like the way you don't think twice about calling an iconic BR loco crap but will defend your anything but iconic crap american locos.

731 class 37s on the DLS
664 SD-40s on the DLS (and many many many more via payware & 3rd party)

(both include obsolete versions, neither is an exhaustive count of each class' presence on the DLS)

Not a huge difference for a single iconic locomotive.

I like american locos too, but I'm honestly quite sick of seeing SD-40 after SD-40.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. It’s all a matter of personal taste and preference. We all have our own.

You could have the most wonderfully built US diesel, created with the most complex mesh and the highest possible resolution graphics, showing every last rivet, rust stain including the remains of the driver’s last sandwich (with ketchup) on the dashboard.

It will still look like a brick on wheels.

Cheers
Casper

ps All IMHO of course!

most of the sd-40's are in different schemes but almost all the class 37 are in same colour only few are in different colours just change in number

What? most 37s are in different liveries, the overall livery might be BR Blue, but there are small differences between the way the liveries were applied between different depots. To a british railway fan, the difference between a scotty dog BR Blue 37 and a salmon BR blue 37 are obvious, I'm guessing you also think all of the sector liveries look the same.

What this is boiling down to is your ignorance of the railway system you're complaining about. I bet you're more than willing to give 2 different UP Sd-40s a pass on this, when the only difference is 'Dependable Transportation' vs 'We can handle it'.

I agree, with Kamran. Too much, BR crap. Personally, they should just released a version for the US, Canada, & Mexico with North American locomotives. A UK verison for BR locos. A AU version for Austrailia, etc. etc. That way, everyone would be happy.

Ooh err, all the off topic-ness. Back on topic, they seems there is more European/UK content out there after having a look.
CaptainEngland: I do not have TS12. It was the lack of compatabilty mode that put me off buying it. The comment about the Alex23 A4s not working in TS12 was because they only work in 2010 when it's in compatibilty mode, so I would assume they wouldn't work in 12 without some fiddling with config.

To get back on track, and not moaning at who's loco's are better!

@nathanmallard
If you can get something working in TS2010 in native mode, then IMHO, 95% of it will work in TS2012. The only issue so far that I found was the shadow poly limit, which using PEV's latest quickshadows should sort out.

Back off topic now. Of course, us British invented trains so OURS are the best!

Regards.

all the trains are best being a train lover no train is hateable
but if we go accordng to complaint of creater of this thread i can just say its not true trainz is mix up of contents through out the world if some country has outstanding contents then they will be definaly added
if you want to add uk contents then just create some good contents so they can be included

again to say all trains are lovable if someone think i hate uk trains then its not true class 66 is one of my top favourite loco
i just post against br contents according to title of thread

This is the silliest debate that I've seen on the forums in quite a while. 'Better' is in the eye of the beholder, and quite frankly, in what you grew up with. What's been great about Trainz, and this forum, is a sense of unity in the enjoyment of the sim. This thread isn't going to resolve who's is better, but it will plant the seed for some ill feelings.

Oh no! I've started another US vs. UK arguement!:'(
kamran, I was not complaining about US loco's, re-read the first post. The are a lot of Class 37's but compare the number of SD40's with another classic british loco, the Class 20. These have been in service since 1959 (I think) and are still running today. There are only 44 of those. No Peppercorn A1s, No Wordsell G5s, No J72s even, the longest lived steam engines in service!

Oh, and American trains are nice too, the Reading Crusader and NYC Dreyfuss Hudsons being my favourite, and the High Hooded GP38-2's look quite impressive

One final note Kamran the Class 66's isn't even British! They were made by EMD.

It always happens when someone starts comparing 'this' vs 'that'. Just look at the number of threads comparing:

1. Payware vs freeware
2. DLS vs Third party hosting
3. Steam vs Diesel
4. Trainz vs MSTS vs .......
5. 2004 vs 2006 vs 2009 vs 2010 vs 2012....and it'll go on
It's just the nature of things. Everyone's going to have their personal opinion and no amount of debate, or logic, is going to change anyone's mind in most cases.

Sad really

Mike

What's cool about Trainz is you can drive whatever you want from wherever you want.

I occasionally drive Australian locomotives with my American freight cars, or Desiro DMUs on my New England styled route.

So strange that the original post ask this question about the version(of Trainz) that have been the most ''international'' ever released up to now.
