what's a normal map?
well some improvements were made to engine specs in general. i know that the specs perform differently in different versions. i see them as an improvement in 09.

Steam specs are the only one I can think of. Does anyone else know of any others, or are you able to list any of these 'more changes'? I certainly can't think of anything relating to scenery.

I am fairly sure the only changes were made to steam engine specs... Otherwise it is just a better and less forgiving error checking system design to increase game performance.
You are saying Auran even made thier own creations unusable! That sure sounds like there is even a business plan there!... even though auran did them that way too...
I wish that an option existed to delete assets from the database while in surveyor. I often download in bulk (which is why I bought a FCT) and sifting through the assets in the CM after a large number of downloads is far to tedious for me. The assets that do not work in Native mode in 2010 show listed as red in surveyor and cannot be placed. So if I could just delete them while I find them in surveyor I would not have a list of 30% non-usable faulty content.
Otherwise, I like 2010. I will continue to use 2010. I don't see any point in asset creation for older versions at this point. Native mode 2010 is far to good to bother with older content. Compatibility mode in 2010 runs slow.
Why not just use the "faulty" selection in CM2 search and delete or disable them?
A good thing I reminded you![]()
Though I stand by my statement about deleting and/or disabling from Surveyor.![]()
I just got TS2010 and im having problems with the .bin file extension. Does anyone know a website that can fix this?
same goes with alpha blending on certain objects like trees. those should never have been made that way to start with, even though auran did them that way too. trainz aside, you just dont normally use an alpha blend in a situation like they were being used. its about time they have recognized this and are discouraging it. they did not stop anyone from doing this, and now with rendering optimized, its biting everyone in the rear.
