Clear Lake Logging Classic Primer

Working on some waterline items lately. Still a lot to do. These are just testing shots, by no means final objects.

Looks really great. I like very much the tug boat and the barges loading at the ore dump.
Very nice new feature.
Thank's a lot for this good job.

Hi Rich,

I so agree with Rick, and Thierry, really cool and great looking!

Then again, coming from the mining side of Trainz I'm a little biased... :)

Glad to see other people carrying on the modeling with Trainz, and the mining side - thank you for putting in all this work on your models!

Best wishes from a "old modeler" feeling burnout

May I ask a question? What level of track do your boats use... the same level as vulcans barges?

I originally thought about doing this but I believe Ian uses a 3 meter above water line standard for track. I am having to use a 1 meter standard simply because of the compact scenery and smaller structures. So the answer is no for now, sorry.

This shot illustrates the gross difference in basic tugboat size.

If I want to someday make a car barge, I will likely have to maintain the standard I am using now for track and vehicle waterline height. Ians vehicles are way too big for narrow gauge use.

I just wanted to point out that the route is over 6 years old now, and this thread is over two. If that isn't a testament to the quality of the work then I don't know what is!:)

Thanks to everyone here for keeping the interest in this project. I have to admit that I have not touched anything for the last 5 months or so. Trainz is about 10% or less of what I do in my spare time and in the summer - well it has pretty much dropped to 0%. I am a very active outdoor person so when the weather is good I am usually on my bike, kayak or in the mountains. I usually hit Trainz creation pretty hard though during the fall and winter, so the glimmers of hope should still be flickering.

I have treated this project much like I would a model railroad so it takes a lot of time to do things the way I would like. I will probably never completely finish it to my satisfaction and we will be on Trainz version 2050 by the time it goes public and most of you will be deceased. But hey, quality takes time right!

In reality I would like to get this done by winter this year. But as we know, what we would like to happen and what actually does happen is sometimes different. This project however is well beyond the 75% point so that should be hopeful. I also am optimistic that when I get back into it things will come together quickly.

still workin it

Operations are alive and well on the Clear Lake Logging route. Been a little bit since an update. The weather is turning crappy now so time to hibernate and hit some Trainz action.

Not done yet but certainly a lot closer to done than not done if that helps. Every day is one day closer to completion.
