Clear Lake Logging Classic Primer

Very beautiful route. Thanks alot by the way. Now I am inspired to make a narrow gauge coal mining route. NG looks like alot of fun.

Nice!!

Thank you for the updates Rich, lovely video and even better looking models from you!
You have a nice touch for details, and workings of a railroads I think!

Glad to see you still find joy in this hobby!

Thanks, and best wishes from Norway

Operational testing has begun. I have to learn how to make sessions all over again, it's been a few years.

Some screens from last night's session:

The 7 and the 10 meeting at the Camp 1 wye. The "mill" train and "woods" train trade consists here and turn on the wye.

The 7 "mill" train bringing loads down along the lake.

The 10 train taking on water at Camp 5.

Loading up equipment at the warehouse for the next run up.

Lot of testing and a few more structures yet to do. 2009 release? It could happen.

Will you be making it for 2004/06 for those people that don't have 09?

I only create for 2004 right now and test in 2006 when I can. Everything will be 2004 compatible first, no fancy stuff here. What I mean is that I may actually share this route in the year 2009 - finally.

Cultus Mountain Mining Unit

Well, the July/Aug 2008 issue of Narrow Gauge and Shortline Gazette had a nice diagram of the Iron Blossom Mine from Utah. I enjoyed the article and diagrams so much that I freelanced a similar version of the mine for the Clear Lake route. It is placed high on the Cultus Mountain and is only accessible via the incline. The mine will produce high quality hematite iron ore that is a rarity in this region. Harvested ore will be transported to Clear Lake by rail and then transferred to barge to be shipped to a processing mill giving this route yet more operational diversity and interest.

NICE!

Hi Rich,

Welcome to the mining world, where love is found wherever you dig... ;)

I better start up my subscription of NG&SLG again after I lost it last year due to all the troubles I've been through - as it sure seems like I'm loosing out of some great inspirations.

Then again, your two screenshots have also been inspiring, thank you so much for sharing those here!

Best wishes

Linda
