Show off your reskins!

I made these reskins a while ago and these are my Amtrak P40/P42 reskins based off of trw1089's P32ACDM model. I even tried throwing in a "fake fan" texture over the radiator part, but I think it's nice illusion even though it's messed up.

Sorry to doublepost, but here is a reskin I whipped up in about 10 or 20 minutes

I know, there is a small thing wrong with it but I cant do anything about it.

Nothing that special, but here's an "alternate history" reskin of Conrail having a successful steam program with K4 #1361 involved. The K&L Trainz K4 tender shown here is my personal reskin which I've made this a few years ago.

Ah, how far K&L has come. Their models were fabulous when the came out, but compared to these, it shows how amazing and detailed current K&L products are.

An injection of british stock...

Some more GTCRR equipment. Details in the Make Up Your Own Railroad Thread: https://forums.auran.com/trainz/sho...ur-Own-Train-Company/page17&highlight=Saturnr

New GTCRR PS LWs rebuilt at Colorado Railcar in 2016.

The 3 rebuilt Heavyweights from Colorado Railcar. The rebuilt lounge car (ex-CNJ commuter coach), ex-RDG Combine (ex-GTCRR steam set), and ex-CN Mod. HW "Seattle", rebuilt with corrugation in 2015 (and seen above) re-rebuilt for Amtrak certification with new glazing, more modern couplers, and new wheelsets.

Following the $40,000 USD price for Colorado Railcar to rebuild the ex-RDG coach, the rebuild was scaled down to not include new glazing, new wheelsets, and plumbing systems. Just new bearings, HEP, new wiring, and piping. This was still quite sizable, so the other combine was sent to the Point Jeyes Railway (physical connection with GTCRR) who offered to "rebuild" the car for under $10,000 USD, however the contract stated "like new", and PJRy, famous for its historical accuracy restored the cars not to like new in the 21st Century, but factory condition in 1923 with full friction bearings, steam heat, and gas lights. Much to the dismay of the GTCRR crews who now essentially had another SP set with steam heat and friction bearings. Before the misunderstanding was uncovered, 1 ex-RDG combine, 1 ex-D&LW "GTCRR movie train" Boonton Coach, and the other ex-CNJ commuter coach (the one not rebuilt to a lounge car) all were turned out in Pullman green in 100% 1900s condition.

In failed spin-off of "Little House on the Prairie", ex-Western Pacific No 94 transports the cast towards their new home as cameras are rolling in "Little Cabin in the Hills", only one pilot episode was ever made, and the 94 then headed back to the WRM. The caboose, an ex-V&T miners caboose went back to Shortline Enterprises, and the GTCRR Boonton coach-back into storage.

In this close-up panning shot viewers will notice the short lived gold striping livery WP 94 carried.

THE REDWOOD ROUTE:

The famous California Western has always been under-represented here, despite having a wonderful DEM on the DLS, myself and Tigerko15 hope to change that.

CWR ex-SP Harrimans 655 and 656 painted as each one is, with attention to minor detail (like roller vs friction bearing).

I am hoping to repaint the gondola car into CWR maroon and add some handrails on top, though in real life the gondola is a real passenger car, one of the 3 or 4 ex-Erie Stillwells cut down to the belt rail in the 1990s to serve as open air cars after rust from the coastal air retired them in the late 1980s.

To go with the movie cars several posts above, a CNR 4-6-0 poorly disguised as a V&T engine with faux Russian iron jacket.

How long does it take you to make these reskins? Cause when I made my P&A "The Pioneer's Axe" passenger set with the P&A D1b reskin, it took about a month to perfect everything. With my D1a it took about 3 months because I kept screwing up.

Oh usually a day or 2. I’ve refined my skills over the years. The loco above was very short because I wanted it to be a poorly done Hollywood style kitbash.
