New GTCRR PS LWs rebuilt at Colorado Railcar in 2016.
The new borrowed Steam Set: All ex-SP as-built (restored) coaches.
The 3 rebuilt Heavyweights from Colorado Railcar. The rebuilt lounge car (ex-CNJ commuter coach), ex-RDG Combine (ex-GTCRR steam set), and ex-CN Mod. HW "Seattle", rebuilt with corrugation in 2015 (and seen above) re-rebuilt for Amtrak certification with new glazing, more modern couplers, and new wheelsets.
Following the $40,000 USD price for Colorado Railcar to rebuild the ex-RDG coach, the rebuild was scaled down to not include new glazing, new wheelsets, and plumbing systems. Just new bearings, HEP, new wiring, and piping. This was still quite sizable, so the other combine was sent to the Point Jeyes Railway (physical connection with GTCRR) who offered to "rebuild" the car for under $10,000 USD, however the contract stated "like new", and PJRy, famous for its historical accuracy restored the cars not to like new in the 21st Century, but factory condition in 1923 with full friction bearings, steam heat, and gas lights. Much to the dismay of the GTCRR crews who now essentially had another SP set with steam heat and friction bearings. Before the misunderstanding was uncovered, 1 ex-RDG combine, 1 ex-D&LW "GTCRR movie train" Boonton Coach, and the other ex-CNJ commuter coach (the one not rebuilt to a lounge car) all were turned out in Pullman green in 100% 1900s condition.
