Young Surveyor questions

I every body. I recently bought Trainz 2012 and like surveyor section. So, 1) Why grid in real scale are 720 x720 instead of 1000 x1000, would it not be easyer for constructor. 2) Is there some draw lines that take less memory than tools menu. 3) Is there some fan living in my erea .4) What is the software they use to do 3D objects.
