Union Pacific Screenshots Thread

LGBMATT:wave: , Thats pretty darn neat!:D I know this really isnt the place to tell, but I have #844 in HO scale, its a Riverossi. Fact is, I've been a model RRer for many years, the whole reason I'm into Trainz now is because my son and i have had move into a small apartment for now, and i just dont have the room anymore to set up a big layout like i had:( , on the bright side though, I have really gotten into Trainz, its really been helping me through my HO layout withdrawals :) .

**********************************************
I know I shouldnt mention this here either:o , but i started this thread, and its a good chance those that read it are UP fans like myself, here's my thing: Is it just me or is the link to TrainZitalia's FEF's just a lie? , just something to get you ticked off because after 40 trys(I couldnt be more serious)I STILL am unable to download those engines, the link keeps dropping me halfway through it:'( , even when trying to download it at work, which has real fast internet speed I am STILL UNABLE to get it, cripes, i swear that link is just there to tease us UP fans:( . I joined TrainZitalia to buy their Sherman hill route, but how the heck can i justify paying for a route from a place i cant even download a FREE engine from? .......sorry folks, just had to blow off some steam, seeing the FEF LGBMATT posted just reminded me of it.

I'm a bit of a HO scale model railroader. I have heaps of track, buildings, scenery items, 3 Bachman trams, Australian National 44 class, some other Australian National diesel, 2 Union Pacific steam locos, a Country Link XPT, a small British diesel, a British Jinty 0-6-0 and a lot of wagons, carriages, hoppers, boxcars and a reefer.:D

Oh, and Denis73, where can I find the UP billboard and UP f7 typr locos???

You must be doing something wrong. I joined also for Sherman Hill, which was a Platinum purchase. You should be able to get all of the goodies. I have had no problems, and the route have no missing kuids. If you have Sherman Hill, go to the Platinum download area and you should be able to get the locos.

No....H1's are to wide...Them are the ones I drove a lot...They are just like the military ones and they are a lil big...I like the H2's

An H2 is a fine GMC Suburban based vehicle for wasting money on a mid life crisis. It is also a fine all-terrain vehicle assuming that all of that terrain is pavement. I honestly have never seen a dirty one yet, so this is a moot point.

denis73:wave: Great shots! , Glad to know there is a UP fan in France too!:D

Chris, you can find that UP billboard and one more, a more modern one, on the DLS. Those UP F units are also on the DLS;) .

motorbreath, Thanks for the TrainzItalia info:) , i'm joining as a platinum member now:D .

Being British I find it extremely hard to know what trees and textures to use for a USA route.. all these screenies inspire and confuse!

Any tips laying about for a Californian/West/UP/SP route? trees and the like?

lginc I love your screenie, is it your own route?

Thank you for your kind remark. I myself am into O scale. About the the FEF pack try it here: http://denver.trainzitalia.com/forum/local_links.php?catid=7

This links directly to the the freeware page. Also your broswer might have something to do with it. I had the same problem with Mozilla Firefox, so I used Internet Explorer and that did the trick.

Hope this helps,
Matt

Thanks Davie!
If your wanting to model the UP on the California/West part of the route, DONT go by any of my screenshots, UP's line ends here in Wisconsin, and thats the section I have made my route of. My route simulates the UP line from Chicago Ill to Janesville Wisconsin(though UP DOES go farther North then Janesville), the time frame my route is based on is from right after the mergers-today, thats why you usually find SP, CNW & Rio Grande engines in my consists;) .
StorkNest provided a great link that should help you out:D .

denis73, I like that route:D , what route are you running on?

Matt, O scale, WHOLLY SMOKES, i couldnt imagine the room it would take for an O scale layout:eek: :) . Thanks for the link! , but sadly, thats the same exact link i have been trying to use for the last 40 times, just doesnt work:( , I use MSN explorer and IE, doesnt work on either for me:'( . Hopefully I can get a better link when I purchase Sherman Hill.

Merry Christmas UP fans!

I am going to post some screenshots of a route I just started work on. It'll have many, many UP locos and items of rolling stock on it.

Chris, Good luck on your route! , cant wait to start seeing pics of it:D .
My route is slow going, between work and my son i havent much time during the week to work on it:confused: .

denis73, Nice rain shots:) . I never take pics in surveyor but I think there is a "Sticky" thread in this section of the forum that tells what keys to push to get rid of those arrows for screen shots in surveyor;) .

UP is alive and well in Southern Wisconsin...

Meh.

I Love Union Pacific more than any other Railroad!
They had the HUGE Bigboy locomotives, the fast streamliners, the awesome gas turbines, the PA1 class (they were used in other railroads though), the M10000, and the list continues. They are also usually in Armour Yellow (yellow is my favourite colour). And they are also successful railroad.

Chris, I hope you dont mind, but I took that quote of yours(above) from another thread:) . Being somewhat of a UP buff myself, i thought i would add some things to it;) .

UP was the ONLY road that had the:
BigBoys (25 of these)
4-12-2's (class known as the "UP Type")
DD40AX's "Centennial" (47 of these)
DD35's with and without cabs, 29 in total(SP had 3 DD35's, but NONE of them had cabs)
U50C's (40 of these)
Century 855 (4 of them, they were made by Alco)
SW10's (shop made by UP out of SW7/9's, TR5's and GP9's)
M10000-1-2
M10003-4-5's (I like these MUCH BETTER then the M10000-2's)

Sucuccessfully ran THREE different sets of Gas Turbines, the first set contained 10 of them, the second set was called "Veranda's", there was 15 of them, and the last set, the 8500 series contained 30 of them.

**The UP was also only one of six roads that ran the Aero Train, sadly the UP only ran it for just over 9 months then sold it off to Rock Island. UP ran it from LA to Vegas, the train was fondly called "The Crap Shooter" .

And for the record, the UP IS the Largest North American RR;) .

Denis73, why don't you try to take some shots from driver, instead of surveyor? The red and green arrows take away from your shots. Just hit the F5 button to get all of the stuff off the screen in driver for a nice clean shot.

I TOTALLY AGREE with motorbreath:D , but if you do prefer to take screenshots in surveyor, hold down the Alt key and type in w a l k , that will make the arrows disappear;) , again, like motorbreath said, taking screen shots in Driver is better though.

well, in drive mode i have problems to take some screens, a repeat fatal error dicontinued after some screnshots, I do not understand why in mode driver have fatal error so, however mode constructor I have no problems, maybe graphic card on PC, PC is not so young...

SHEEW! , Just finished the two sections of my route that are before & after the "Big Hills" (just outside Beloit) section i had already completed on my route. Now the whole stretch going from just outside Beloit, through Afton, and into the very outskirts of Janesville IS DONE!...YEA!:D

I followed two UP trains, one going Northbound, one Southbound, through the whole area(Pics below) . I apologize for posting more shots of the "Big Hills" area, but it was right in between the two areas I just finshed today.

I have 16 pics, so this will be a two part post.
