Ultramegaroute soon to be released

Thanks for pointing out the lifted track - I'll see if I can find it and make the repairs.

Those pesky cablecars!!!!! I've since disabled all three cablecar stations from producing any cablecars and that solves the problem. The other option is simply taking out the re-rail portal, but I like having it there.

Thanks again for taking the time to post the shots!

Continued:

I saw one of these out of the corner of my eye, running by on the main, and didn't think much of it, but when the second one went by, I chased it down to see what it was.

That thing was a cable gondolda. They can go from 0 to 25 MPH! I wonder how it got on your route? Which I am definately downloading!!!

... as soon as it is available somewhere.

I know it's frustrating (probably for me more than anyone) but Auran doesn't seem very interested in accepting it for the dls because of its size.

Perhaps if there's a public outcry and show of support, they will change their minds!

Otherwise, it will be hosted on a third party site, and you'll have to come back to the dls anyway to get all the assets!

Thanks to all for the interest.

Pulp Mill at Halden

It seems that going or coming on the Halden line leads trains onto Pulp Mill track. No Coal consist around either. Might look at what causes this, although it is a minor thing, just letting you know

outbound for Gilby

Hey Jack

Cool shots! With respect to the pulp mill at Lang, the reason that this happens is that an AI driver will take the SHORTEST route possible - and that area being on the inside of the curve is the shortest route.

This can be solved by one simple command:

Drive Via Trackmark: Lang West Bypass.

That routes the trains on the mainline.

Hope that helps.

Red Log Car

I'll have to get back to you on that, I'm currently running a "Speed Disk" program on my external hard drive and it's slower than a snail....Probably won't be done until late tonight or early tomorrow, but will get you that info....it's not payware....the only payware I have are loco's. Later

Jack:D

P.s. thanks for the bypass info

Log Wagons

Got that info you needed/wanted. Sorry it took so long.

and

Screen_275.jpg

They both have an Mlog Icon so they might be from Murchison Logging layout by SirGibby, but I am not sure. Will have to find the KUID and see, but I'm possitive you can download his layout on the DLS. The only part of Murchison that was payware was the Nature Series 1 and 2, but I might be wrong. Will get back when I get that info.....

Jack:D

Got the info as follows:

logs 50ft ATSF - Kuid2:62941:16309:4 - cjlear (author)

logs 45ft Lear - Kuid2:62941:1600t:4 - cjlear (author)

I thought it was a Mlog (murchison), but as usual, I was wrong. Hope this info helps, BTW - the download page has the required dependencies, like bogey, etc...

Container Run

Will that was a bust......the TTX econo wagons only load 2 at a time and skip one then another 2....hum....so I had to do a bit of manual labor....LOL. On the last of it, the last wagon derailed.....that was fun...

GHOO rerailer handled it ok, but two complete consists came outa the portal....hum.....and the last two empty cars where full.....then I got a stack dump of sorts..... 50 cars might be tooooo much to handle for my puter......looked great from a high vantage points....nothing but yellow cars as far as I could see.....

Will try a shorter version later on today.....

whew!

Jack:D

Neil, Not much been happening but did find this nice Renfe steamer:

Screen_294.jpg

It comes with Sprinkles in the Smoke.....

Screen_295.jpg

This leads me to the question....Not any Fueling stops for steamers in UMR. I found one "TPR Engine Track 20M" that looks like could work. I tried putting one at Oakwood on a siding, but didn't show up for AI assigning. Help. Want to put one in all the big towns.....this loco requires a shot of water every 50 or so miles......Advise.

Hey Jack

That's an interesting suggestion - admitedly, I've never really considered this as a steam-type layout, so there are very few active facilities to these ends.

The only active water source is in Clarkseville, and I suppose you could pick up coal at any of the four mines.

You say that loco goes about 50 miles? Not very fuel efficient!!!:D

If I put facilities in, say, Gilby, Lakeridge, Palmer, Millbury, Oakwood, Caldwell, Millhurst, Halden, and Gladston, that should be sufficient, yes?

Right now, I'm changing signals so there are none in between the mainlines (adding left-side signals, and/or overhead signals), so once that's done, I'll look into adding some coal/water stops.

Thanks for the suggestion - although with all these upgrades, I'll probably never get this monster released!:D

n

That should do the trick on steam loco refueling at those places. Fuel (coal) is ok, It's that pesky water. I could tie a water tank on back of the tender, I guess. lol

Look forward to all those upgrades. I'll take it, even if no one else will.

Jack:D

P.s. It's that water that need to be placed. The coal mines would do for the Coal. Could load coal at the Depot track say, where the goods/diesel is offloaded.....hum

This is very nice! Will there be sessions, too and will the sessions for the GHOO route work here? -Chris

Hey Chris

I would assume that the sessions for the GHOO would not work as I think sessions are associated with specific maps, and this is a totally different route (the way the computer sees it, anyway).

There are sessions called base sessions, that set up the industries - loading these in surveyor, and adding your own rolling stock will enable you to use all of the industries with your own rolling stock.

I've actually made a few sessions to demonstrate some of the industries.

examples - woodchips and general goods, cattle and logs, last wheat pickup.

There is even a tour, which requires no driving control - you just sit on the loco and watch the scenery go by.

I'll keep everyone updated as to the progress of the improvements, on this thread.

@ Neil & Chris

As long as the map is pretty much the same as the original everything works. I will try transfering the session North To Gladston from the GHOO to the UMR just to be sure.

Update: Just tested the Local Freight North to Gladston scenario in the Ultramegaroute and it didn't work probably the coordinates are messed up due to the merge. I wouldn't mind redoing some of the scenarios or producing new ones if anyone is interested.
