UK Screenshots for Pre BR Blue. High resolution warning.

Thanks Annie. I recall that Lavenham looked pretty good in TANE. I know a lot of people prefer the lighting in TANE, particularly for the older models. Obviously I treat my screenshots before posting (like any good rail photographer) so they're not quite as 'in-game' as the original. I may have some TANE based screenshots of Lavenham somewhere. I'll try and dig them out!
I have to ask Paul, is there any chance of you updating Lavenham or Much Murkle for TRS22? MM was one of my favorite routes back in TS12 as well as one of my first ever SR Themed Routes in Trainz and I'd love nothing more than to run it again in TRS22.

If you can find some of your TANE Lavenham screenshots I would be pleased to see those Paul.
TANE is where most of my collection of older locomotives and rolling stock finds a home for exactly the reason you gave.

Looking back over the years I can still remember the jolt on first experiencing Lavenham, Much Murkle and particularly Ashburton and Windrush for the first time. Amongst uk routes they were each a big step-change in demonstrating what was possible.

Thanks Tanker. Lavenham has been re-released in build 5.5 (uploaded on 29th Jan 2021). I'm embarrassed to say that I have versions of Ashburton (build 5.5) and Much Murkle (build 5.4) ready which I keep meaning to 'finish off' and re-release but I haven't got round to it. Maybe I should just get them out there?!

Thank you very much. Much Murkle and Ashburton were originated by Razor and I remain very grateful to him for his original work that gave me the inspiration to finally finish something!
The first time I saw 'Lavenham in Winter's fiddle yards it was almost like a religious experience.
It's amazing isn't it? I got a book called Railway Stations from the Air (Ian Allen) featuring pictures by Aerofilms taken in the interwar period. There was a picture of Lavenham taken in the 1920s and I was really taken by the unusual track layout for the goods shed and yard. No idea why they built it like that, but the great thing about Trainz is you can try and build it!

Honestly Paul, if Murkle is not ready yet don't be afraid to take your time with it! The original MM was such a masterpiece for its time because you gave it your all and it shows even years later. Based on the screenshots it's going to be one amazing route when it finally reaches completion! 🤩

I also noticed that G6 in the third shot. It's by far one of my favorite locos that I commissioned from Camscott and it makes me so happy to see you enjoying it on your famous routes.

I was digging through my older screenshots I had archived away and I found these ones from my rebuilt TRS22 'Cairnrigg to Balessie' layout. I was going to upload it to the DLS, but with all the 'update' patches happening at the time that were breaking things I decided against it.

These are some snaps I took of the ex Stockton & Darlington Bouch 4-4-0s built by R. Stephenson & Co in 1862 I have in my collection. Significant as these were the first true four wheeled bogie equipped locomotives in Britain. Stephensons based them on the locomotives they had recently built for the Grand Trunk Railway of Canada and they were intended to protect the crews during bleak Pennine Winters. Only as it happened the engine men strongly disliked them as it went against their reputation as 'hard men'. Anyway I don't care since I like them and I consider them to be among my favourite engines.

An interesting older layout, - and of course it's ex-GER as well.
Perhaps, I'm glad that I've got magandy's permission to update this layout. However, this version is an unofficial version of the updated Saffron Walden Branch V5 layout, I have two official versions of Saffron Walden that actually are available to download for those interested: V6 - a TRS2006 version & V7 - a Trainz 2010 version. I have thoughts of eventually doing a TRS19 version and maybe have it on the DLS, but I'm not sure if that will even happen as a reality instead being an idea in my mind.

I don't know what you mean by 'perhaps', - but the Saffron Walden branch was built in 1865 by the Saffron Walden Railway Co, and was then sold to the Great Eastern Railway in 1877.
I would be interested in taking a look at the V6 and V7 versions of the route if they are available. A number of suitable GER buildings made by George Marshall (research by me) for the route are now available by the way so there's no need to use so many placeholders.
