TVM Signalling - any tips?

Hi all,

Does anyone have a guide to using and setting up a TVM signalling system in Trainz? I'm using the TGV TVM signals, but on many occasion, as consists pass by, the speed limit drops to 1mph!

Am currently working on High Speed 1 around Ebbsfleet International.

Thanks,
Paul

I guess you are using the signals created by josiassobrinho. Me too. Unless I'm mistaken, I don't think there is a guide for the installation. I put on the map, exclusively, as many speed limit signals corresponding to the maximum speed that I want (for example 360 km / h) separated from each other by 1500 or 2000 meters. All these signals must be surrounded by two others created by JAVA23: CABexe - <KUID2: 23299: 23052: 1> and CABfin - <KUID2: 23299: 23053: 1>. The first at the beginning of the high-speed line and,
of course, the second at the end of it. All other limit signals (320 to 60 km / h) should be used along the high speed line when speed reductions are required, but not for a stop at the station. Indeed, the signaling system takes into account the planned stop and decreases the speed until the train stops (AI). By doing so, I have no issue. Hope you find these few tips helpful.

Best regards.

Thanks for the response. Having removed EIT's from my route, I realise now that it is the use of EIT's that is causing the problem. It doesn't appear that the TVM signalling system and EIT's are compatible.

Thanks,
Paul

Hi Paul,

I am not sure that EIT and TVM are incompatible. I use them together in one of my maps without issue. To be sure of this, it would be advisable to contact the creator (pguy) of the EITs directly.

Best regards.

Thanks for the further response.

Can I ask what you set your start and subsequent signal state to when setting paths?

Thanks,
Paul

Hi Paul,

Always on "automatic". When I forget to modify it, that's where the problems can arise: speed 1 km/h, but not systematically.
