Does anybody else's PC slowly cook itself in Surveyor?

All of you might consider undervolting/ underclocking your cpu and gpu. I wouldn't let either get over 75c for long sustained periods of time. You will damage your hardware. I have my 4080 not going over 67c under full extreme load, And my cpu over 70-75. Plenty of underclocking video's on youtube. If you have newer hardware, try undervolting first. i dropped my 4080 on trainz from 83c down to the 65c without performance loss. Don't try it, if you don't feel comfortable with your bios. MSI afterburner is great for nvidia card undervolting.
I changed my GPU cooling solution. That was easier and more piece of mind for me to not have to fiddle with other settings.

Especially in Summer Time, in our area we get Temps outside up to 110-115 Degrees living in a Semi Arid So California near desert areas. It gets tuff trying to keep the house cooler. This is all relative to running Computers during the day. So we'll time shift our use too early in morning and later in the evening.

As a Geek with over 55 yrs experience, when it comes to laptops, I never overclock mine to extreme level, it becomes a Sticky Wicket, and you really don't know the cumulative effects of heat damage, until you experience intermediate Failures and or outright loss of devices. ;)

I think we are all in that situation of high replacement expense when this rears its ugly head!

Here are some info links about heating effects with respect to Electronics Etc:

I agree and I keep my older (sic) RTX3080 no higher than 77c. I did this by creating and tweaking a custom fan curve in Afterburner. In addition to adjusting the fan speeds, I also make sure my computer is clean inside and frequently blow the dust out of the fans. Using a special vacuum meant for electronics, I put the hose on the blower side and stop the fans from spinning while I blow the dust out. By doing this, I've kept my temps low.
