Trainzoptions documentation

Still Learning
The Technical Guide lists most of the trainzoptions, but every now and then I stumble on a new one here in the forums. For example, I read a thread yesterday about SHOWKUIDS. I tried it, and it worked great. Is there a master listing somewhere where additional options are available that ARE NOT listed in the Technical Guide??? If not, would someone kindly list some here with a brief description of what they do. Thanks a bunch.

I have TRS2004. Hope the TRS2006 manual is online. I also hope they also work in TRS2004. Thank you very much.

Thanks folks. Does anyone know where SHOWKUIDS and NOLOG, to name two, come from? Does someone have a customized updated listing lurking around, or are these part of a global list that are applicable to all simulation games? I occasionally see some I have not heard of here in the forums, try them out, and find that they are great. I guess I am hoping there are some other very useful ones out there listed in one central location.

Googling for trainzoptions.txt showkuid gives a couple of forum postings in German at trainzdepot.net. There are no matches for trainzoptions.txt nolog.

Thanks, John. As a matter of fact, your writeup of the trainzoptions was the first one I printed up when I first got into TRAINZ. It has been proven to be invaluable. When I would stumble upon an option that was not listed, I documented it. Trying to find where they originated has proven to be futile!!! I'm thinking that just maybe there is a generic listing of options that apply to many simulation games, and I am the only person on earth who does not know about it. Unlike most folks, TRS2004 is the ONLY simulation game I have tried. Other simulation games must have some sort of :confused:an OPTIONS listing, and people tried them here. Just by chance, maybe some of them worked. I have Googled my hands crazy. I will keep trying. Maybe some other train simulator may have workable options. NOLOG and SHOWKUIDS came from somewhere.

The old forum had listings of several that were found to work - probably most are incorporated in the utility. Auran does not support the use of any of them officially. I think they indicate that in the manual where they list a few - you use them at you own risk as to game perfomance. The majority of the undocumented ones I believe were found by searching thru the exe or one of the dll's. Acceptable values (if any) to use with them takes guess work and trial and error.

Trainz is based on Auran's Jet game engine so there may be additional documentation for options in the developers' guides that come with it. Although it's possible they may only be specific to Trainz.

Thank you. That sounds reasonable to me. I will continue to make a note of any that are mentioned here in the forum. I have no problem trying out any of them.
