Perhaps worthy of a separate thread, but I'm wondering what exactly contributes to performance? I'm fully aware of the need to watch out for polygons, lack of LOD, etc and I have deleted assets in the past that have certainly resulted in improvements, but I've just looked at a collection of fairground assets in a route of mine, which seem to be at the centre of a bit of a hotspot for poor performance.
6 of the assets are by austin316hockey. None have LOD. One, 'Skywheel', has, under preview Inspect mode, a Triangle Count of 4496 and Draw Call Count of 7. Change the preview mode to Performance Analysis and that Triangle Count becomes around 150,000,000 and Draw Call Count 230,000. It stutters on my screen.
So I then disabled this asset along with the other ones by austin316hockey. I rebooted and ran the same session again from the start.
Performance difference = zero. Not what I was expecting.
