Trainz Update Announcement (SP6)

anyone here Correct me if im wrong but what wasn't the entire point of Trainz plus was to be a monthly/yearly subscription to give users the opportunity to try features in a beta mode that would eventually be released on the base version of trainz22?
Im asking this because a while back when i was using trainz 2019 i thought with the introduction of surveyor 2.0 on the trainz plus subscription it would make its way to the base version of trainz 22. so guess what i did. i went and bought the base version of trainz 22 thinking that when surveyor 2.0 is out of beta testing on trainz plus it would make its way to the base version of trainz 22 that i just bought.

but sadly i was wrong. after having trainz 22 for a while i seen that there would be a platinum version of trainz 22 that would include surveyor 2.0. i was super confused because like i said my entire understanding was that features in trainz plus would be in beta testing then eventually released to the base retail version. im like there's no way they would want be to buy a next version of trainz 22 just to get the opportunity to use surveyor 2.0. i go to the trainz store and i could not believe my eyes when i seen that the platinum version of trainz 22 has surveyor 2.0 included and not the base version. so guess what i did again....i bought the platinum version.

now i have the base version of trainz 22 collecting dust since there's no point to use it since the platinum version has surveyor 2.0 and it does not. and yes i know the platinum version included bonus maps and locomotives but i literally dont use any of the bonus maps or locos that they included. i literally just wanted the surveyor2.0 and feels like i got finessed. the only thing i seen that recently got taken from trainz plus and brought to trainz 22 is the new ui

That was how I read that as well then they came out with the platinum edition which completely changed how things were said they were going to be.

If I remember correctly TRS2004 NEVER took 30 minutes to start up.....

Then you didn't have as many assets installed in the World/dispatcher/downloads folder as I did. TRS2004 had to rebuild the cache files every time it started to find any new assets you had added to the game. In those days. I was downloading everything on the Internet for Trainz. I just checked my archive of TRS2004 and the World directory is 32.2 GB and contains 406,042 files and 41492 folders. Now that is tiny by today's standards but back 20 years ago it did in fact take more than 30 minutes to start the program up to the point of having it ready to use. Today, it takes about 90 seconds running on more modern hardware. I've never been a "gamer" so having the hottest rig was never important to me.
