Trainz Update Announcement (SP4)

Kind of curious about that package compression thing that's been announced on the Trainz+ website. Has that been implemented yet or is that still being worked out?

I concur with the mouse sensitivity issue. I find that this new patch makes moving the view around ridiculously sensitive. Moving around with the mouse or even with the keyboard arrows is almost giving me motion sickness. I may try and see what my mouse settings in Windows can do to help.

Yes it is true. I have the same problem. You can live with it, but it's annoying.

The same issue. I'm very dissapointed, almost with every patch, if not every, something is broken down, what before worked well, how long it will continue?

So what's the number for SP4? I don't see the check for available updates.

From the Wiki...

Build 126273 - Retail TRS22 SP4 (Windows)
Build 126274 - Retail TRS22 SP4/TRS22 PE (Steam Mac)
Build 126280 - Retail Trainz+ (Windows)
Build 126286 - Retail TRS22 SP4/TRS22 PE (Mac)
Build 126290 - Retail Trainz+ (Steam Windows)
Build 126293 - Retail Trainz+ (Mac)
Build 126295 - Retail TRS22 SP4/TRS22 PE (Steam Windows)
Build 126297 - Retail Trainz+ (Steam Mac)
Build 126300 - Retail TRS22 SP4 (Mac App Store)

I'm guessing with 126295 you have TRS22 on Steam? If so, then you should be good.

I have no issue with the mouse. The performance is a bit spiffier than it was before overall and that could be the problem. As always, I've set my mouse movements to be extremely slow to start with and have since I first used TRS2004 so many years ago.

Windows
TRS22 = 126273 Retail
TRS22 PE = 123456 Retail
TRAINZ PLUS = 126280 Plus Trainz Plus Beta stream

MAC

TRS22 PE = 122419 Retail

As shown in the MyTrainz download section.

Looks like I found a new feature - at least for me.
All clutter effects except for the builtin route and maybe the included DLCs have their clutter effects removed even though they're there. Anyone else having this issue?

I was working on my route (can be seen in Show Off Your Routes and USA Pics) and all clutter are gone. Only thing that remains is Turffx....
This is why I never updated my creation version from SP1 as I got tired of all of these game breaking features.

Cheers

New user here been lurking a couple weeks since I just bought Trainz 2022 PE off Steam recently. I was loving it until this afternoon, now I'm dead in the water.
If there's a better place to post then sorry and please let me know.

  • Windows 11, newer MSI laptop, 32Gb RAM, 3080 card, pretty standard. Trainz ran fine yesterday.
When I go to run Trainz 2022 now, I get nothing, no errors. Trying to launch from Steam, same result.
  • I don't really have a lot of stuff downloaded, new player, so I did a Windows uninstall of Trainz 2022 PE and reinstalled from Steam.
  • Nothing, when I run it from the Start menu I get the Steam dialog, which goes away and then nothing happens.

I looked around for logs in the steamapps dir and under %appdata% but no luck on anything from today.

Any suggestions on troubleshooting? Is there a log file somewhere?

I may be a dunderheid but... has anybody got the new bulk replace to work without covering their layout in random objects with a density akin to porcupine quills?

I was able to get it to work. Try these steps.

S20 Bulk Replace:
Bulk Replace Filtered Assets is a new tool for S20. This tool is to be used in conjunction with the Filter Palette. This tool can be used to bulk replace both assets and ground textures.
To use this tool, follow these steps while in Surveyor 2.0:
  1. From the Windows Menu, open the Filter Palette
  2. In the Filter Palette, search for the assets you want to be replace and ensure only those assets are toggled
  3. In the Filter Palette, set Filter Disabled
  4. In the Asset Palette, select the asset you wish to be used to replace the assets from step 2
  5. Right click on the assets/texture you selected from step 4.
  6. Select "Bulk Replace Filtered Assets"
** IMPORTANT NOTES **
  • Highlighting an asset on the Filter Palette does not impact Bulk Replace - Only assets toggled! Be sure you only have the assets you wish replaced toggled on in the Filter Palette.
  • S20 bulk replace applies to the entire route.
