We are excited to announce the latest release of Trainz Plus and TRS22 SP4. This update brings a host of new features, improvements, and bug fixes designed to enhance your experience with the latest Trainz code base.

Multiplayer Surveyor Route Export
Create your routes online using Multiplayer Surveyor then export them to continue using them offline. Enjoy the flexibility to upload and download routes to and from MPS anytime with Trainz Plus. A new Publish Route to TCCP option is found in the Sharing Menu for TCCP Route export.

Surveyor 2.0 Bulk Replace
S20 now includes bulk replace functionality that operates seamlessly across both HD and legacy terrain. Replace one or more objects with a new asset across your entire route, significantly speeding up route creation and upgrades. A new Bulk Replace Filtered Assets option can be found by right clicking an asset in the Asset Palette. This should be used in conjunction with Filter Palette. This is a quick solution to users that require bulk replace functionality in S20 and on HD terrain. We have future plans to roll out new functionality to bulk operations.

Filter Palette
The Filter Palette allows you to further segment pre-sets and picklists. By enabling or disabling specific assets within the Filter Palette, you gain precise control over the currently selected asset list. This is only available in Surveyor 2.0. Asset Palette filter categories are relocated to the new Filter Palette. A new Select in Filter Palette option is found under the S20 assets contextual menu, which opens the Filter palette and highlights the asset under custom filter.

Edit Route Detail
SD/HD option - Found in the Edit Route dialog, this option only applies to the new HD Terrain type. It allows a route owner to limit the precision of terrain edits made. Setting the option to SD limits editing precision to 2m resolution, while the HD option enables the full 0.125m precision giving much finer control. This is able to be set and used in MPS Routes as well as local. This takes effect on an edit-by-edit basis and does not retroactively modify the existing route detail.

Show Logs List
New Logs found under Developer options on the Trainz Launcher. These logs are server side logs, typically generated by operations which run partly or entirely on our servers. Whenever you view one of these logs (eg. through the TCCP project edit window) it's added into this master list so you can get back to it later.

+ Many Bug Fixes

How to Update:

To update to the latest version of Trainz Plus, follow these steps:

Whats Next for Trainz Plus?
We're now in final testing of the next Trainz Plus update which will deliver Phase 2 of the Trainz Living Railroad systems. External beta testing will begin shortly.

Update (181MB) took less than 2 minutes to download and install. Now on build 126280 for Trainz Plus. TRS22PE build 123801 states that "No update is available at the present time".

G'day @n3v_laurence, is this part correct? Is the standard def resolution now down to 2M?

If so, that will allow for some nice improvements in detail for those of us who can't take real advantage of the HD resolution.

Unfortunately (for me) it seems that any HD routes I've downloaded are pretty much unplayable (veeeeeery slow to load and update when moving around) on my machine. :(

Cheers,
Piere.

Well I never, whatever SP4 has fixed has also or appears to have resolved a few of the issues that I have experienced over the past two or more years.
I will keep you posted.

Same result as Pware. Update only available for Trainz Plus beta, no updates for Trainz Plus (123794) and TRS22PE (123801).

I think that there is the usual confusion over product branding. It appears that the update is only for Trainz Plus but the program title on the Trainz Plus menu bar says Trainz Railroad Simulator 2022. Perhaps n3v_laurence should have stated:-

  1. Start Trainz Plus Launcher
  2. From the Trainz Launcher, open Train Settings
  3. Select the Install Tab
  4. Click on “Check for Trainz Updates” and follow the prompts to install the latest version.

At MyTrainz Trainz Plus is downloadable as build 126280, but ingame the update is only available at the beta channel.

I've been able to force the download of the patch for Trainz Plus (non beta) by starting the Patch Installer.exe .

Not from my experience. I have two installs of Trainz Plus, one is on the beta stream and the other is the normal subscription (non-beta stream) version. Both automatically updated to build 126280.

Steam version here -
auto update to SP4 and no issues launching it.
Loaded up my WIP route (can be viewed under USA Pics or Show Off Your Routes threads). Everything seems to be good.
Route development is still done in TRS22 SP1 due to stability reasons.

Cheers

Please double check your update streams.

If you are Trainz Plus (build 123794), you should use the Trainz Plus update stream to update to 126280

If you are using TRS22/TRS22 PE (build 123801), you should use the TRS22 update stream to update to 126273

To check your update stream, please do the following steps:
  1. Start Trainz Railroad Simulator 2022 Launcher
  2. From the Trainz Launcher, open Train Settings
  3. Select the Install Tab
  4. Click on “Change Trainz update stream...”
  5. Click on next for Patch location
  6. Ensure correct MyTrainz account details are used and click on next
  7. Click on Change Stream...
  8. Select corresponding stream for your build
    • (TRS22 for Trainz Railroad Simulator 2022 & Platinum Edition, Trainz Plus stream for Trainz Plus)
  9. Click on Done
  10. On the Install Tab, now click on "Check for Trainz update"

Updated from 123794 to 126280. Once installed (still as "TANE"), starts using 95% of CPU and 10 to 15GB DRAM with no visible sign of activity other than in Task Manager. The same 40 mins later. What is it doing? There is no pop-up window.

It says it only applies to HD terrain which means you have a choice when creating HD Terrain of it being either 2 m or .125 m. No change to the classic grid system. Apparently if I am reading it right, you can switch back and forth on a per edit basis. Not limited to changing the entire baseboard like classic.

Same here.

FYI: As before, there's no indication that the DBR is running. I had to open up the Show Logs window to view the process to see it because it runs "silently". The difference this time is I didn't need to start Trainz first.
