Hello Everyone,

We have another update that includes some content changes as well as several TLR commodities and trackside fixes. This build now limits imposter use to speed trees. There are some known issues with performance, and we recommend disabling shadows should systems be under performing.

Please use https://n3vgames.typeform.com/to/xRdryu to report any bugs including any ongoing faulty assets or trackside faults.

Change log (127161 to 127542)
  • Imposter use is now limited to speed trees
  • Fix: Car movement on roads
  • Fix: Derailments due to coupling with slow performance
  • Fix: Duplicate Commodities shown in vehicle commodity overlay
  • Fix: Failed to take exclusive lock - Rolling stock commodities
  • Fix: Overlapping textures on HD baseboard error
  • Fix: Tutorial 5 AI behaviour change
  • Fix: Bookmarks are no longer cleared when exited from driver
  • Fix: Classic rename assets
  • Fix: Trackside issues
  • Update to Built-in Content

New Feature: Dispatch Manager

Where to find it:
Dispatch Manager can be located via Tools menu or opened via “Show Dispatch Manager” found under Driver properties, Dispatch Status

What you can do with it:
  • Easy way to monitor all dispatch tasks and identify any issues
  • List all Drivers and their dispatch status
  • List all the industries and dispatch status
  • List all Trains and the list can be broken up into rolling stock and powered trains, or both
  • Find rolling stock for a product
  • Find and claim a task to drive as the player

New Option: Claiming a Task (TLR)
  • Claiming a task will behave differently depending on whether it’s an active task or not.
  • If an active task, the current driver commands will be cleared, and the train will be brought to a stop. The train control mode will be switched to either DCC or Cab control, depending on the session/player default
  • Tasks can be claimed via Dispatch Manager or via Driver Details, under Dispatch Status

In addition to the Dispatch Manager, there is a new vehicle queue editor with reworked UI, and a new Activity Journal.

Update: New Vehicle Queues Editor
  • A new UI can now be found for vehicles. This replaces the old script and will resemble the interface used for Industry queues
  • Accessed by CTRL + Right click on rolling stock in Driver or Edit Details in Surveyor
  • Can add commodities directly
  • New copy and paste feature to copy commodities to other rolling stock

Activity Journal Script API
  • A more compressive logging system in order to track activity with dispatch and AI driving behaviour

How to try TLR Phase 2:
  1. Install the latest Trainz Plus Beta update (127542)
  2. Install "Coal Country (HDT)" (simc:1663)
  3. Drive "<kuid:661281:110131> Coal Country TLR Session"
  4. Feel free to watch the drivers carry out tasks or claim a task for yourself to perform

Key Features:
  • Dispatch Manager
  • New Vehicle Queue Editor
  • Activity Journal Script API
  • Access to Coal Country HDT
  • New Build version 5.6

REMINDER:
** Please ensure you have a backup of your local data folder before using it with Trainz Plus Beta **

INSTALLING & PATCHING:

For Trainz Plus Beta via the Trainz Plus Beta Stream
Trainz Store Only:

PC: Requires Trainz Plus 127161 (PC). This is a large patch 7.6 GiB for build 127542

Please report any bugs using this link: https://n3vgames.typeform.com/to/xRdryu

Change log (127058 to 127161)
  • Fix to trackside assets height after track adjustment
  • Fix to cars having wrong orientation on road
  • Fix to cars not disappearing when they reach road end
  • Fix to Scrapbook paste HD to non HD texture overwrite
  • Fix to Scrapbook paste forming ridges when pasted over baseboard edges
  • Fix to Undo of HD edit low-res tile flagged as promoted
Change log (126280 to 127058)
  • Dispatch Manager (new)
  • Living Railroad Dispatch Disable/Enable option under Session Options (removed)
  • Claim Task option (new)
  • Vehicle Queues Editor (new)
  • Activity Journal Script API (new)
  • DirectX12 Beta option (returned)
  • Validation change - validation errors were in specific cases, sometimes hidden from the output, and should now be shown reliably in those cases
  • New Build 5.6
  • Misc Bug fixes

Known Issues:
  • Some users may have assets reported as faulty - validation errors were in specific cases hidden from output, and now should be reliably shown.
  • This build lacks precache shaders. Stuttering and small freezes during first loads of routes is to be expected as well as longer initial load times. 'Compiling Shaders' can be seen top of the screen during initial runs and slow performance is to be expected during this process.
  • Assertion Errors are enabled for this build. Trainz will pause until Assertion Errors are closed. Users can select Continue and Ignore Errors. (Reporting when these occur with bugs will help with troubleshooting)
  • ObjectBlock() Assertion Error when closing Trainz
  • Imposter (speed tree) shadows may not appear or appear in incorrect locations
  • Routes with imposters and shadows may encounter slow performance
  • Distant trees may be rendered as 2D imposters and may appear off-angle
  • TurfFX is not supported under DirectX12
  • DirectX12 has known issues with AMD Graphic Cards.
  • DirectX12 may lead to black flickering and bright spots
  • DirectX12 may lead to loading & unloading stalls
  • The 5 Built-in DLC updates include sessions with incorrect train positions
  • Newly created Route and Session Thumbnails will appear black

Download and install took 25 minutes.

While that is happening it is a good idea to look through the change list and known issues in the first post above. But, no doubt, there will be posts complaining about things that are known issues as some users do not seem to understand what a "beta version" is all about - my opinion based on past observations.

Downloaded without any problems. Still have some faulty packaged assets which I can't fix. I have reported these, but no resolution yet.

Thank goodness for an updated patch at last! The previous patch was intolerable and quite unpleasant to use, so I abandoned testing much earlier than I'd prefer.
Went back to route development projects in 126280 for a more restful and rewarding experience.
Keen to see if this one delivers on the promises of the fixes above.
Edit Update: Pleased to see much better TLR behaviour, predictability and performance this time around. Also, most of the glaring rendering issues evident in the previous drop at middle distances have mostly disappeared.
Thanks team/ @n3v_laurence . Appreciated!

Is anybody else see a 100% black screenshot, when you take one. with this build.?
Yes. If you use the programs screenshot it comes out all black. If you use your computers screenshot button it takes a picture that comes out black in the program's viewer but a good screenshot wherever you keep them.

This version definitely performs better but I have a bunch of DLC that is broken and can't be repaired as Paul Bert mentioned. These appear to be actual errors that will need fixing before the full version is released.

When attempting to remove false errors after the long overnight DBR, I ended up with a CTD when I attempted to preview a faulty asset. In a small Trainz Util window was a message that said in so many words (paraphrased). You can't preview faulty assets. Then Boink! everything disappeared to the desktop.

Other than those issues, I loaded up one of my routes and sessions and let the AI drivers loose on it. They appeared to behave, although they really are aggressive with switches compared to older Trainz versions. I wonder if this behavior is due to the changes in the code to accommodate the newly updated TLR.

Just confirmed it.

Take a screenshot using either the PrintScreen key or the Trainz Social Menu Capture Screenshot option then the displayed screenshot thumbnail is black. Also the screenshot saved in the AppData/Local/N3V Games/Trs22/.../Screenshots folder is also black.

Using the Windows Snip & Sketch App to mark out and capture a screenshot works

Bug report posted.

Interesting! I typically use the std Windows screen grab (Windows+Shift+S) in Windows 11 Pro. I just tried going straight to PrintSCRN (outside of Trainz) instead, and it defaulted to the builtin Screenshot UI (same as Windows+Shift+S) instead of the previous full-screen snapshot that earlier Windows versions performed. (Note to self: Must try that again on my Windows 10 machines to see if the latest versions of Win10 do this too).
In Build 126280 (T+ stable version) the PrintSCRN snapshot (and its thumbnail) was stored and displayed correctly into my Trainz screenshots folder in UserData.
In Build 127542 (T+ TLR beta) it also saved to the correct folder, but the image was slightly darker than a screengrab taken with Windows+Shift+S. I put that down to the known graphical performance issues noted by @n3v_lawrence above. The thumbnail reflected this faithfully.
In summary, however, PrintSCRN behaviour in Trainz appears to be normal and as expected.

I can't tell. When I click the link I get a blank page with the tab icon continuously showing an attempt to link to a document, but nothing happens.
it works for me when i click on the link. it is a screenshot of the error that i get.

object block() Block being destructed with objects still active....then a whole bunch of number follows.
have checked before with task manager running and there is nothing running , but the launcher.

This build has exceptions turned on. The message isn't supposed to mean anything to the end user. If you like file a bug report using the link in the first post and send it to the team. I just click the button on the right and go on using the program.
