Trainz Platinum default?

I took advantage of the special email discount and purchased the Platinum edition. The digital download for the World Edition was replaced by the Platinum Edition in my account so I am guessing the Platinum Edition installer is now the default?? I have the World Edition installer saved elsewhere, but I just want to double check to see if this is suppose to be the case.

Yes we'll now see you have PLATINUM appended to the TRS19 and this will be your new default download. TRS19 original edition will no longer be available to you to download so it's good you have the original tucked away somewhere.

So on a similar vein, should the build number be different from the plain vanilla version of TS2019 SP1? Mine was 105096 and is still the same since updating.

Platinum should be a new install on you computer not an update and read 105100.

Sounds like you guys may be able to answer my question. I bought trs19 about 3 months ago and I see it is now the SP1 version 105096. In the last newsletter there is an option to buy the Platinum version for a discount. Does my version have all that is in the Platinum version or do I need to buy it and is it a completely new install?

Nimec, Platinum is the same as TRS2019 SP1 (105096) but with a few extra features, routes and rolling stock. Check out the store description here. It is a separate download as Stagecoach informed me and I have now found and downloaded it. I am still in the process of downloading all the DLC from the new CONTENT STORE feature which I think is a vast improvement over previous ways.
Hopefully you have time to get it before the cutoff, which I think is tonight (Mar 17)

Thanks Railpilgrim. Ive just paid for it so will get the notice to download shortly I suppose. Looking at ekeenan's post at the start of this thread does the new download install over and replace my exisiting global version or is it a completely new copy and a separate download? Cheers

It's a new separate copy, so you will need room for it. (Currently mine is about 28Gb with more to download)
You'll find it in the MyTrainz site under product downloads towards the bottom. here

Thanks. I've downloaded it and it is 105100 but it only has two routes in it and is only 13.5 Gb !! I must have missed something here or too getting old but where are you downloading all the extras from? I thought all routes and sessions would be in the download or would do a download update after it was installed but seemingly not so. Would appreciate your help here. I have plenty of room just need to find the rest of the download. Cheers

The remaining content is downloaded through the Content Store. That is found on the launcher.

Make sure your user name and password are entered in the settings. Now click on content store to find the extra downloads you are entitled to. Click install.

Thanks, Yes the user name & PW are right and Ive had a look at the Content Store on the launcher. There are some routes etc with install written on the RH side and others with a price beside them. Is it only the ones that say 'install' that can be downloaded for platinum or are they all in it whether they have a price beside them or not?
Secondly if I may, once I have a completed platinum copy installed including my third party routes and sessions that I had on trs19 SP1, why would one keep the ordinary trs19 SP1 copy?

Yes the ones that say install are the free ones that come with your version of the sim. You can download or leave them. If you have room it is always good to have a back up in case of errors but you don't need to keep it.

Just finished downloading all my content but have noticed that there is a Betatest:sc495 that has been installed although I didn't click on it at all. I can't find what this package is either from the WIKI

Also there are 7 routes that show as INSTALL and also another copy that the button is blank (all grey) They look to be the routes from TMR2017. I have installed them all from the INSTALL button but these 7 duplicated still show as available but I can't do anything with them. I'm not worried but I just don't like things that are not normal. they are -

Those are purchased DLC routes and are not part of the platinum free DLC routes. If you had them before check the purchased box next to the store.

OK, I downloaded my Platinum version and some of the routes from the Content Store. I have also noticed that now when I start my old version of TS19 build 105096 that it wants to download the routes there. Can I stop this from popping up every time I start the old version with out downloading them?
