In my Trainz 22 PE I have a build of 123801 but I'm seeing higher builds on the forums yet when I check for updates it tells me no update for Trainz is available at the current time. I checked the download page and there are higher build numbers for 22 in the installer downloads but there is Platinum at 126273 and a retail edition build of 128487 Why is Platinum a lower build? If I want a newer build do I need to install one of those and install another copy of Trainz 22? Should I download the 128487 build? It's 14 GB vs. 11 GB for the PE build. How do you get 22 SP5? Is that available in the retail edition or is it Plus only?

The newest version of TRS22 PE is SP5 HF1 which is 129335 if you bought TRS22 PE directly from N3V. You may have the wrong update stream set in your install.
From the launcher, choose Trainz Settings then the Install tab. Click the Change Trainz update stream... button. Follow the prompts to check the current setting. I had to choose the TRS22 Beta setting to be offered the SP5 update that has the hot fix already in it. Once you change the stream it should tell you there is an update within a few minutes.
BTW, build numbers don't always reflect that a build is newer. The build number comes from the compiler and just indicates that the build was compiled later. For instance, TRS22 build number might be higher than Trainz Plus but the Trainz Plus version has many features that TRS22 doesn't have.
One last note, never cross the update streams. Only use the TRS22 streams for TRS22 and TRS22 PE. And the Trainz Plus streams for Trainz Plus. Mixing them up will mess up your install.

I got it to work and it's updating to SP5 now. I wanted to fix the white flickering trees at lod 2 bug and hopefully the bug where it would say incompatible spline where you would place signals and trackside signs down in one of the builds is fixed now. I'm going to stick with 19 and 22 PE for now, I had a free year of Plus and it expired. It costs over $100 a year to use Plus. I don't like the subscription model where you have to pay to continue using something. I'll wait for the next retail release down the road.
