The Alabama & Southeastern RR WIP Thread (Large Screenies)

Thank you! I've almost finished getting all of the deps after conrailfan sent it to me, once I have all of them we're going to start building southbound to Verbena, Al.

The Gulf Shores High Line is progressing well, as of last night I'm at 20 1/2 miles of triple track mainline laid. Once I lay another half mile as double track mainline, I'll officially be in Jackson, Al, the last stop on the GSHL before crossing the border into Florida. Once I'm out of Jackson, it's a 24 mile shot to Tallahassee. Then it's on to Bluewater for scenery.

Screenies:
Here's a map of the GSHL so far.

And here's the Mobile Engine Shops. Third largest on the system, second is Montevallo, and first is Autumnville (I'm looking forward to building that engine facility!).

Ok did a little railfaning in Autumville....There was a foreign CP ES44AC, we saw the yard job with a SD38-2 and a Slug. Also we saw the emd sd70ace units that the A&SE are testing. Finally we see A&SE 7172 leave the yard going north.

Finished another mother-slug set today with SD39A-1 101 and slgu 1203. 1203 is the first A&SE unit to be weathered.

I suggest you tone down the weathering a bit, and don't cover the whole model in a weathered look, look at how this slug looks after years of service:

Note the streaky look from rain, see how the car has a lot of streaks running down the side, that's how most weathering looks

Still working my tail off. Here's a look at the old Autumnville Loco Shops. They were used from 1981 until a bigger shop was completed in 1994. It was then used for storage until the present shops was expanded in 1999 and the space was no longer needed. Here's what it looks like after 15 maintenance-free years (it was last repaired in 1998).
