South Australian railway content

South Australian Railways First Class Medium Sized Station as commonly used all over the routes with the majority of them built in the 1880s. Many of these have now been demolished or sold as private residence with the abandonment of many of the lines due to for may reasons the impactile cost of convert these over from the different gauges used in South Australia to Standard Gauge. These will be released as a number of packs with the first one to suit midnorth and flinders based lines. This has 11 stations in this pack (Crystal Brook, Gladstone (pre 1928), Yongala, Peterborough, Laura, Orroroo, Carrieton, Bruce, Port Augusta (pre 1923) Hawker, Beltana. Additional releases will be done for other areas for the same style/size and then also look at the larger and smaller variations.

This is two assets, one the model and the other a texture group. Add the model and access surveyor properties to select which location which changes both structure and look. Supports smoke and night mode

Hi all, been away from trainz for over a year but have been updated with some of schaffer's work over that time. The work that has taken place by all the content creators here has been bloody excellent! Going from no new content for years to multiple people working on different projects is truly incredible. I wish I could respond to all the new work done over the past year but there's so much happening! Need to go prepare some screenshots or even get back into making small scenery objects...

I am trying to find out what assets are missing re the Willunga route, I think there about 8 in total that are mine and the others are transdem. The Sir Gibby houses I made into brick walled items I know about, I have to contact him to ask permission to change the textures and he's not responding to messages. I found two buildings I missed uploading and have done so today, but there are probably about 3 others which so far, I can't find, as it means trawling through a large number of my assets in CM as they come up as modified so can't tell if I uploaded them or not. If anyone can post the kuid numbers I will fix it asap.

That's far more than anyone else has reported, a guy reported there were about 8 of my assets and a handful of transdem textures ( which can be disregarded ), but he deleted his post so i lost the info. But if he could have that few missing then what is missing for you is highly likely DLC content, all the assets are either in DLC or on DLS apart from a few I've not uploaded, i guess you need to investigate what DLC you have got installed. A lot of those items 82412 kuids are TUME's stuff, such as this one <kuid2:82412:612618:1> its packaged and likely from the Avery Drexel route , the content of which i have installed but somehow, no route itself ! <kuid:216380:102722>,<kuid:216380:103063>,<kuid:216380:103075> are schaffers. possibly he hasnt uploaed them yet. have to go but let me know if you have found more of these from DLC

The route is looking great so far. Just a suggestion, you might make a cut off distance for fence splines, as once a few trees are added the distant fences won't be noticeable. With the overly large route that I'm doing (area and file size) I usually only fence the properties in full view of the tracks.
cheers

yeah its a hard call. i've been putting the fences in to level up ground and also to measure distances between the houses , i will probably remove many of them away from the track , what i really need to is a decent South Australian 1950S/60S house spline, but no such beast exists.
Thanks for the list of missing kuids, i will check out your list today, 216380 are schaffer buildings, they may be ones Nicks still working on or ones I am supposed to check out for him. I'll ask him what their status is later on today . I have found about 5 items that i need permission to upload, none are essential , i also need to modify some items further and quite a few assets may well not be included in the final version.

I am having a week or so off Willunga as i need a change , I'm just making a small extension to the timber ridge line, I updated it to fix a few things and in the rush to get the Willunga route out beforte i went on holiday I didnt get it uploaded.

My carpal tunnel has also been execerbated driving around NZ for around 12 days ( took in the Tranzalpine and the Taieri gorge, both absolute crackers of routes ) ! So I might have to hang back for a while on extensive trainz work until I can improve my hands .

Some of the assets in the route that are mine cannot be uploaded at present as I've accidentally used the same kuid numbers for new assets . It will mean me renumbering those five or six and then a new upload of the route. I modify my assets on my Mac as I have photoshop on there, I try to cross reference what existing Kuids I already have on the DLS , but in this case, I messed up.

if you look in the last few posts I've explained just why these are missing,216230 are schaffers ,Looks like a cattle van he hasn't yet uploaded and and 4 SA stone houses . Mine cant be fixed until I upload a new version. However, you have a couple there that are not on grazlashs list, 368725 are new to me, they are El stoko items, factory loading bay doors, which are packaged, you are missing a DLC pack .

<kuid:368725:2025> Factory Loading-Bay Door 1 single comes from Settle & Carlisle, specifically the Ribblesdale portion, as does <kuid:368725:2020> Factory Loading-Bay Door 1

Sir Gibby has kindly given me permission to upload his modded NZ houses, so I will be doing quite a few of them in brick and tin roof versions. Schaffer still has work to do on his cattle van models but will upload the SA stone houses soon.
I need to do some work on my carpal tunnel problem, but will begin work again on the Willunga route again soon. New , better quality aerial images have surfaced, so i imagine i will have to do quite a bit of remedial work to what i have already begun, but will concentrate on getting the line itself into shape as the signalling is going to be a problem. simply put there are signal combinations on the SAR that simply don't exist on the DLS. Sadly, I am going to have to make compromises. I also have little experience in signalling as almost all my routes so far are single line routes operated by tokens .
Can anyone point to a really good signal tutorial online ?

I know this is for Victoria, but it gives an idea of which signals were used for a particular purpose. Some of the principles will be the same though SA may have used different signal sets.
Hope this helps in some way
cheers
Graeme
cheers mate, the fact that its semaphore makes things a lot harder , The actual Willunga line itself from Goodwood onwards is pretty easy , just home signals at the end of each platform in suburbia and a few more complex ones where there are sidings.Once past Hallett Cove its token operated. The big problem is the two large yards as there are a lot of triple and double signals as well a big gantry that seem to have no equivalents . I understand its not a good idea to mix signals from different asset makers.I must tackle this but not looking forward to it , to make things more difficult it looks like they had introduced some color signals on the main line by the late 1950s . I was hoping that an earlier trainz SAR route that was made from Adelaide to Brighton over a decade ago would give me an indication but it used all color light signals and was set in the 1980s by the look of things.
