Wheels bugged after new update

Pretty much all wheels post-update spin at 2x or more of their actual speed in-game. It's very noticeable on steam locomotives, and it's really annoying to deal with.
Here is a demonstration video:

(If the link is broken, let me know)

Here's what I've found from this:
1. The locomotive's top speed is usually halved and the torque is doubled.
2. It happens on both official and community-made content.
3. Some locomotives before the update had this issue, but usually it was only a few older/outdated mods.
4. Locomotives that had no issue before the update now suffer from this issue. Third-party content (like the streamlined K4 as shown above) worked perfectly fine before this.
5. Validating game files via steam (to see if any files are broken or missing) does not fix the issue.
6. I have since deleted every single file and reverted to the base game to see where the issue stems from, then testing just the streamlined K4. The bug still happened, but not every time. It worked for a little bit, but soon went back to how it was.

I haven't seen anything posted about this, so I am looking for help here. Please let me know what I can do to fix this.
Thanks!

That's terrible. More reason for me not to buy 22.

@miggle > In your testing, did you analyze differences in animdist numbers ?
That should be what's causing wheel rotation problems.

Maybe something in the update has affected the animdist numbers on all Steam Locos.

Sorry, I'm pretty new on the forums and my Trainz experience is pretty limited. Could you tell me what animdist numbers are and where to find them?

Thank you for the help! Been playing around with the numbers. Nothing quite fixes it. Both smaller and larger number numbers I've tried make it too slow, but I got it to be pretty close by multiplying it by pi/2. It'll be something I'll have to revisit.
My guess is that they converted the animdist from a 30 fps base to a 60 or 15, and either one messes with the timing.
I'm trying to make sense of it all but nothing has worked 100% yet.

Only in DCC/AI mode the bogey animation is playing to fast (if the animdist is correct). In CAB mode the bogeys rotate at the correct speed. This problem exists since TANE(?), and still isn't fixed.

Weird, wonder why it's doing this differently for you. Manual control (as seen in my linked video) still has the same issues for me.

Yeah, it's a finicky calculation. I fixed a slew of Czech, Polish and Bulgarian Steam loks a few years ago, re-calculated all the animdist numbers. Most worked, but a few were super fiddly, and I never did get those fixed.
The most annoying part was getting the correct circumference for each wheel. If I couldn't get the data from a forum, I measured each wheel in surveyor with a meter ruler and fudged the resulting number to get an "as close as possible" reading to find the circumference.
The original authors of those locos haven't ever fixed them either. Can't blame them, LOL

Is the listed circumference not accurate in game? I looked up the wheel size for the train I was fixing (streamlined K4) as a test bed. 2.032*3.1415... got me ~6.38, but that was the animdist already in the config file that was giving me issues. What equation did you use to fix your wheels?

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Measure 3 times then cut, right ? Measuring in Surveyor was how I originally found out that some wheels were In correctly calculated.

Well, measuring didn't do much. Still the exact same. For now I'll keep my trial and error going until it works. Thanks for the help though.

I got it to work! I spent probably too many hours on this. Thank you for the help!
NICE ... Glad you got it worked out 🤘 🤘 (y) 🤟 🍻

A point on measuring wheels. You can measure both inner and outer flange diameters.
This can make a difference I think, in achieving success with less trial and error.

I can try to help You on that ;-)

Perhaps in the future @JAGG . I exported all of my old Czech/Polish/Bulgarian content to CDP and stuck them on a USB memory stick. They were taking up space on trainz installation, as I wasn't running them much anymore, since I'm mostly building layouts and modeling scenery assets. Thank you for the offer ! ☺️ 🍻 🤘 ✌️
