Show Off Your Routes *Potential For Large Screenshots*

Morning EPS (state electric company coal train) to northern Koljevica mines. In reality, until recently (before new 200 km/h fast train), State Electric Company railroads and fleet were best in the country. They do operate fleet of their own locos and railroads. Here in the game, they operate their own fleet but not railroads:

Jumped out westward in an area known as Spanish Fork. On google earth/street view I found this cool closed gas station and adjoining RV/Trailer park. Nice break from laying track and figuring out grades. The DEM is handy but its not totally accurate so lots of 'earth moving' and 'by the seat of the pants' surveying is going on!

My bother and I got a model railroad for Christmas when I was ten years old. 1971 holy cow! Dad assembled it and it came with a bit of terrain in like one foot squares. Anyway the locomotive was a Santa Fe F3 and also a Rio Grande stock car was included among others. To me a Southern fan the ATSF and D&RG were so exotic sounding and mysterious. So I broke out the war bonnet tonight for a hot shot ATSF trailer train for old memory's sake.

By the way this is Soldier Creek, about 20 miles east of the previous screenshot. With so much desert terrain I am moving rapidly towards Provo which will be the terminus of this route. Need to measure maybe 20 miles? But detailing a good sized city like Provo is liable to get 'wild and wooly' pretty dang quick when we get there.

Provo, Utah. That thin black/blue line is the track on the D&RG main line, just entering the city. I am geeked out, made it! But lots of work yet to do but I might finally finish a dang route.

For chuckles and grins here next is a poster I put up on screenshot of the week. Ok, misspelled a word but I wasted way too many hours on this yesterday, not going to fix. More important to lay more track into Provo tonight and get the main yard operating!

Screenshots of a beautiful route...
Been seeing your progress on the route for a while now and I have to say that the route looks great! If memory serves its about 80 miles between Provo and Helper, UT. A route covering that distance is no small feat. Yet despite the size of the route you have put in so much detail! Love the road construction crews and scenery. Only thing missing is some decent seasonal rock assets for castle gate and the many cliffs along the route!

Keep up the great work man!

Thank you for the kind words! Any recommendations on the textures, rock assets or other issues will be greatly appreciated.

I hope its ok for me to share that RetroRails12 generously keyed me in on a lot of Utah assets in the form of Cliff formations and also textures that was the result of another Utah Route built in the past here on Trainz. But there is not much that is seasonal with an winter snow option. But I will keep at it, frankly track laying has been the focus point.

One last thing to note is that I looked at a lot of videos and photos of this Soldier Summit area and it appears the most they get is a light dusting of snow despite brutal cold temperatures and high elevation. Its like half snow and half terrain still showing. Still some of the Red or Orange rock cliffs really stand out like a sore thumb when snow is turned on during a session.

This is my wild stab at making the Geneva Steel Mill in Provo, largest in the western United States! Built by the federal government during WWII. US Steel bought it after the war and the mill ran till 1981 then closed.

The D&RG MOW team is hard at it trying to figure out how to open the cabinet doors to that CAT generator to get their project going.

Edit for Spelling....Don't want Forester catching me out to sea on another orthographical error! 😉
