The Rio Grande Zephyr, last privately run interstate passenger train in the United States. She kept running till 1983 long after everyone else had been folded into Amtrak. The Trainz DLS is amazing, tons of cool passenger cars and diesel locomotives are there for modeling the D&RGW. I see a lot of steam engines also, will be checking those out at some point too.

Simulating the Rio Grande Zephyr running along the Spanish Fork River at Castilla, Utah in the early 1980s. There was a three story resort and hot springs here from the 1800s till the 1930s. Everything is gone without a trace (google earth). Multiple towns and enterprises have disappeared all along the 70 miles of track. I am thinking high altitude winters are the culprit. The most famous example being Soldier Summit which just picked up and moved 20 or so miles down to a lower elevation at Helper, Utah.

Great!!!!!! Many model railroaders would love this and do dream of having such a large layout. In Trainz we can. 👏 👏 👏 👏

The model railroading side of Alberte 😁

I've been taking a bit of a break from my New Haven project and recently re-imported my TRS2004/09 route, which covers ~60 miles of a northeastern mountain mainline. It's been dormant for almost 15 years, so it will need a ton of work to bring it up to TRS19 standards, but I was glad to at least get it running again:

@hiawathamr - not sure I'd want to stay at that motel - between the crossing bells, the trains' horns and diesel sounds (plus slack and brake noise) it could be a little hard to sleep. Oh, wait! I *did* stay at that motel, but it it was in West Virginia ;)

@PWeiser - they're actually apartments ;)
Good news is, not many trains runs on this line - I think at most 6 trains as there isn't much business between the two cities (which will be shared when I reach about 90% complete). Anyway, its a good location if you are into trains.

I live only a few blocks away from the busy UP mainline so you hear horns throughout the day and night - and there are houses up to the crossings!

Cheers
